    I suspect Grubb was consulted more than Macdonald. Macdonald has publicly said he's focused on the defense. I'm sure he was in the discussion but Grubb's opinion about how well Howell would fit in his offense would carry a lot of weight.

    Pete wasn't fired sooner because he'd only missed the playoffs four times in his tenure. Good grief, we're spoiled as Seahawk fans that anyone would think he should be fired sooner.     I do expect it to be better. Pete's mantra on defense was to line 'em up and let 'em compete. That worked great when we had a few hall of famers on defense, less so when we had a group of JAGs. We've heard team after team comment about how our defense never changed, never tried to fool anyone...

    So does the system actually guide the official where to spot the ball, or does it rely on the ref to spot the ball and then indicates whether it is a first down?

    I think Howell throws less INTs when he has a running game. Last year teams were able to tee off on the Commanders, both with the pass rush and DBs not needing to pay much attention to the RBs.

    It's a new offense to both QBs. I know they're paying Geno the respect of calling him the starter, but if Howell takes to the new O noticeably better I have to think he'll get the nod.

    I'm not sure why he thinks he has a beef. Got 4 years of pay from the Seahawks and plenty of chances, but could never break the starting lineup. Forgive me for not being too worried about him being a worldbeater when he comes back with an undeserved chip on his shoulder.

    Whether you're a Geno fan or not, it makes sense to see how well both he and Howell work with Grubb and run his offense before making any long term commitments. I'm a Geno fan and think he is good enough to take a super bowl caliber team all the way.....but I want to see how he handles this...

    I'm way more confident in McDonald's ability to instill some discipline in DK than I was with Pete. For all of Pete's good qualities, holding a player accountable was not one of his strengths. Pete just figured DK would learn his lesson, I suspect McDonald is gonna help that learning process...
