  • Goin with the Dodgers.

Gotta love their pitching lately, and they have some momentum.

  • Mariners have a nice streak going. It is too bad Oakland is playing so well.

The Dodgers just went into first place after winning 21 of their last 26, and the fact the NL West is filled with teams playing at .500 or worse.

  • The Dodgers improved to 9-1 since the All-Star break. They are 26-6 since June 22, the best record in the Major Leagues during that span and tied for their best 32-game stretch since 1977. Los Angeles extended its lead over Arizona in the National League West to 2 1/2 games with the D-backs' 1-0 loss to the Padres.

Puig's homer made a winner of Brandon League, his third victory in the past week. League, who lost the closer's role in June, fired two scoreless innings and hasn't allowed a run in his past four appearances.

  • Sweep the Cubs. 14-0 on the road, a new Dodger record. It is 17 to tie the MLB record. Gonna be hard to do in St. Louis.

However, the Dodgers are clearly the hottest team in M.L.B.

  • ST. LOUIS — The Dodgers don't seem to notice they're missing two of their best hitters.

Hanley Ramirez and Matt Kemp are out because of injuries, but the rest of the team, led by the pitching staff, just keeps finding ways to win.

The first-place Dodgers are 17-3 since the All-Star break after defeating the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-1, on Thursday night.

This time it was the Dodgers' battery that propelled them, with starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu having a stellar outing and catcher A.J. Ellis hitting a three-run home run to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning.

With the victory, their 34th in 42 games, the Dodgers took three of the four games at Busch Stadium and finished with a 7-1 record for the trip after sweeping the Chicago Cubs.

  • Last nights win was amazing. Well not if you play like you expect to win matter what. Unfortunatley for me I was at the Ms game. Watching them is brutal after watching the Dodgers. Morse just tossing the ball nonchalantly to his cut off man after he jogs up to a fly ball and lets it one hop just in front of him is maddening.

We bought tix for the final 3 games in late September after we return from our Seattle Honeymoon / football game.

  • Daily update. Another game, another win.

The Dodgers improved to 22-3 in the second half and moved a season-high 19 games over .500. Los Angeles leads the National League West by 7 1/2 games.

The Dodgers are 39-8 over their past 47 games, the franchise's best 47-game run since 1900, and the best mark for a Major League club since the New York Giants had the same record in a period of 47 games in 1951.

The Dodgers will get Hanley Ramirez back wed. and Matt Kemp will follow. More bad news for opposing teams.

It's safe to say I already won my own thread, however, going out on a limb and saying right now.

The 2013 Los Angeles Dodgers will win the World Series.

  • Dodgers are breaking some sort of record almost every day, then they get Young in a minor league player trade. He is past his prime but can spell Uribe at third and Agon at first. He can still swing the bat as well.

The pitching has been very good from starters and the BP. Zack Greinke is hitting .340 as a pitcher. Maybe the M's should try to get him as DH......

  • Almost 3 months ago today the Dodgers were in last place by 9 1/2 games.

3 months later, they clinch the NL West.

September hasn't been all that, but with Kemp back in the line up, they are a formidable team for the post season.

I think Mattingly really messed that one up by taking Agon out.

  • Sweet home run by Puig... oh nm, triple.

Got to love losing to the two youngin's then beating up on Wainwright. Oh baseball.

Nolasco is hot against STL this year (2-0) with a 0.75 era.

I'm going to take the Dodgers in 6 and the Red Sox in 7.
    SUPER BOWL 48 CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, there is life in the old dog.

Nice win yesterday. Hopefully Nolasco brings his A game, then we will have Grienke and Kershaw again.

  • my pick before the playoff was LA over Bos. I still think LA can win it, but the question is can Ryu beat wainwright in game 7, cause I think Kershaw's gonna win game 6

  • We already beat Wainright, and Ryu pitched a pretty good game last time. I like the chances. All year long the Dodgers played well on the road, especially the 2nd half, winning almost every series.

  • It was a good run considering how we started. One outfielder Either/Kemp will more than likely be moved. Billingsly comes back. Changes coming but good things ahead for the foreseeable future.
