SEATTLE — Being a Seahawks fan in Switzerland can’t be easy with the 5,243 mile distance. Fortunately, Sidney Rice was able to make two fans feel a little closer to Seattle on his recent trip to Zurich.
Rice flew to Switzerland last week for a treatment similar to Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) on his knee. Knowing Rice was in town, Seahawks fan and Zurich resident Moritz Luescher tweeted Rice a barbecue invite and a Madden game challenge.

Rice responded to the tweet by sending Luescher a private Twitter message asking for the home address.

“One of the coolest things I’ve done,” Rice explained. “After my treatment I actually showed up to this house and played a game of Madden with him and his brother. They were pretty stoked.”

I don't think I can possibly love this team anymore than I do right now.

What can a sane person and/or a Seahawk fan say to that? Other than "Are you kidding? That's silly awesome".

Nice move Sidney!!!

The players have been awesome in returning some love to the 12s this offseason.

This team has a special feeling around it. I hope they and all of us will be rewarded this year with success.

Historically, they're neutral, which translates quite easily to being non-committal and apathetic.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well - At least I hope so, Switzerland, a 3rd world country?? lol, that's rich....

*This board has a real hard time picking up sarcasm unless it's followed with the sign guy.

That said, Seattle's players do a fantastic job giving back to their fan base. It doesn't even have to come with compensation or some kind of media driven agenda. I'm sure a lot of players are willing to go out on a limb for fans, it just seems like another everyday, normal act up here.

That's a cool thing to do...speaking of doing things for the 12, Doug Baldwin actually went to go visit an acquaintance at the hospital while he was recovering from a bad leg injury. Another friend tweeted him and he responded. This was like 2 weeks ago

Thanks for posting Simon! I noticed that Sidney said you guys were not Seahawks fans, but instead just overall NFL (& Madden) fans. Hopefully this changes that and you become 12's!
