This is a broad topic, and it can cover any sport, but who is your favorite announcer?

I used to enjoy Pete Gross a lot.

And as a kid growing up an Angel fan, Dick Enberg was a longtime fav. as well as Neihouse.

But my nominee is Vin Scully.

He is a master at calling a game 60 years later he is still eloquent and you can literally close your eyes and listen to him describe a game and picture what is happening.

I actually didn't mind Dennis Miller as much as most folks seemed to have. Of course, I like that sort of obscure, high-brow humor better than most.

My favorite announcer has to be John Madden. That was a guy who really made you feel smart when you watched football, no matter how well you knew the game. And those scribbles and scrawls he'd do not only tied the whole thing together with his schtick, but they made you feel like goddamn Claude Monet because at least you could color between the lines.

Most of my favorite announcers are college football guys.

Gus Johnson is great.

Musburger and Herbstreet are a really good combination.

Used to love the Keith Jackson and Dan Fouts pairing, they were great together.

Lots of vote for Calabro, and i'm sure he was great as a sonics announcer although I've never heard it, but he does some pac 12 network stuff and I think he's terrible as a football announcer.

Kevin Calabro...reminds me of sitting around the TV as a kid with my parents, aunt, and cousins rooting for the Sonics and GP.

Colabro is the best going. Sports Illustrated named him that in 96 or so. He's amazing, simply amazing.

"Antonio Daniels drives through the lane wearing only a salty look of scorn"

"Kevin Willis scores with his T-Rex arms. He's like the result of putting your sisters barbie arms on your GI Joe"

"He's in a zone, hes on fire, all he sees is white lite and is fuzzy all over"

"Bones Barry with the shocker....a 3 pointer...2 in the cake and 1 in the pudding"

He's just naturally funny and clever.
