I hear good things about netzero. I'm thinking about dropping netscape for them. What do you think?

Both McKenzie and Schneider knew about Flynn's limitations so I don't think there is some big shock with his performance. JS paid him a decent signing bonus and McKenzie spent a late pick on him. You would think they see him as a bridge. I thought it was Jaworski last year who was talking him up with the KIRO folks, but maybe that was the former Raiders QB? Kevin Harlan as well.

I don't think anyone can delude themselves into thinking he has a strong arm. Will be interesting to see what he does if he plays the entire season. I see him like a Chad Pennington as far as an arm comparison. But that is just my lazy comparison. I am sure quite a few Seahawks fans are tracking his success. Last year was the usual split with our local on-air guys stirring the pot. I am sure Hawkblogger and Softy are still silently cussing his departure.

No matter what, I hope he gets a chance for his one shot at being a starter. There have been worse starters in the league before him and I am sure there will be some doozies in the future.

Personally, I'd like to see the guy actually run a team for a while before proclaiming he sucks. Silly me.

I'm in this camp as well. Flynn's arm and lack of pocket elusiveness are major weaknesses, but he wouldn't be in the NFL at all if he didn't have ways to compensate. He's a smart guy and I think he'll basically be Ryan Fitzpatrick with more deep passing as a starting QB. He might as well be the Jamie Moyer of starting QBs, but he can still outsmart his way to success and ironically his deep ball is surprisingly effective, especially if given some jump ball specialists. Anyone who thinks you have to deliver a 50 yard pass on a frozen rope is putting style over substance. IIRC, Flynn had his best rate stats on deep passing.

Hopefully Greg Knapp gets the memo on that, because Flynn's actually his weakest at intermediate routes (in fact, he's terrible there).

Meh, Jaws is spot on. Couple that with the fact he is with the Raiders and he is dead before he ever gets a chance. It's doubtful he will ever get to actually show more than what I think he is (career backup).

Well I saw them announce this "live" on the ESPN NFL show yesterday. He did put a disclaimer that Flynn was #32 because he's an unknown starter (everyone seems to be hyping up the rest of the segment where he talked about Flynn's weak arm as the reason why he's #32).

The way Jaws dislikes Wilson I halfway expected to see him at 32! Realistically I don't expect Jaws to put him any higher than 15.
