  • What I mean by quirky is maybe something a little different and not a guilty pleasure.

    I always liked this one..

  • I'm not sure i'd put Devil Went Down to Georgia in this category, i'd call that more main stream classic. But the rest certainly fit.

    ***BEWARE OF NAUGHTY WORDS***

My personal theme song is pretty Quirky.

  • Old Crow Medicine Show, "Wagon Wheel." Love Hootie/Darius' version but the original is one helluva quirky, feel-good song.

What have you seen which would imply that cannabis is what's responsible for Les Claypool's eccentric personality?

  • Mikehawks, if you think Primus is the strangest band ever, then you have been very sheltered.

This thread is RIGHT in my wheelhouse, but rather than just unload all of my favorite Zappa and Beefheart selections, I'm going to leave you with a classic from one of the most underrated bands of all time - Sparks:

OCMS actually wrote new verses, it was originally sketched by Dylan. Also for quirky, I like OCMS's cover of the Stones's Down Home Girl.

I like roots/alternative country music, and although its not necessarily quirky, its different and I'll leave this here too.

  • A real oldie here and one that instantly brings back a memory of an awesome summer day at Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint when the jukebox at the snack bar blasted this, Sweet Cherry Wine (Tommy James & The Shondells) and Lady Madonna (if you don't know who, there's no hope for you) all day long:
