Offense and Defense? Not yardage, just scoring points and giving up points.

I really think we can be top 10 in both if we play to our potential.

I'll say #5 defense and #10 offense

You?

It will probably be a cycle: vicious defense yields more scoring situations.

Call me a Homer J Simpson, but this is a no brainer.
#1 in offense
#1 in defense

In other words TOTAL DOMINATION!

Sky's the limit, imo. Not only is Wilson the truth, but this marks the first year since 2008 that the Seahawks will start the season with the same starting QB and OC as they had the previous year. That continuity is going to pay off in spades.

Offense: #1 points, #5 yardage, #1 (record breaking) efficiency (FO, etc). Reports about Wilson looking like a different QB are pretty exciting to think about. He didn't really need to be any better, but reports make it sound like he's on another level this offseason. The 2007 Patriots better watch out!

Defense: #3 points, #4 yardage, #2 efficiency. My only concern is the health of the DL, but Seattle did pretty well last year with sub-par pass rush and have made some incredible additions on defense in free agency.

Point Differential: #1. (Record setting - again 2007 Patriots).

This will be the top scoring offense in the history of the franchise. You can book that.

Top 5 in both, but i wonder if our D will take a hit since teams will be having to take more risks and throw more to catch up with our high powered offense.

First thought: that's really hard to say.

I think they could be top 5 in both, but I think it will be more like 3 defense and 7-8 offense. I see Houston, NE, NO, Denver, NYG, GB, ATL and even Detroit having better offensive numbers just based on their passing games. If SF didn't lose Crabtree, they could easily be up there too.

The Hawks are still a running team first, but the passing numbers will be higher with the addition of Harvin alone. Some of it is the schedule too. Niners twice, Houston, STL x2 and even AZx2 have pretty tough defenses.

That said, the Seahawk offense really came on and looked like they could score on anyone. Damn Harvin could literally explode playing here with a guy like Wilson.

If you really think about it, the schedule is actually pretty favorable for the defense. NO at home, which leaves Houston, ATL and MAYBE NYG with serious firepower on offense. There is a part of me that is not the least bit concerned with the Giants. I might have left someone out on that, but out of the rest of those teams I see the defense being a good match up.

Excellent, glad to see I'm not the only one thinking we've got a good shot at beating some 2007 Pats records. Our offense is going to be absolutely sick, and our defense should be even better. We literally might finish the season with the #1 offense and the #1 defense. Oh, man...

On offense, I'm going with the Hawks scoring an average of 30 points/game, which should place them in the top 3.

On defense, I'm going with the Hawks limiting opponents to only 13 points/game, which should put them at #1 overall.

Based on the above, their point differential for the season will be 272 points... not quite 2007 Patriots (+315) but fairly close.

Only five (5) teams total in the Superbowl era have averaged 17+ more points/game than their opponents.

Offense #5 scoring, probably #7 in yardage. Pass happy teams like NO and Detroit will probably score more, but I see us being the top scoring team in the league in the 1st half of games, then we run the ball to finish teams off.

Defense #1 in scoring. We did it last year, and we have guys like Wagner, Chancellor, Smith/Morgan, Irvin, heck even Sherman that are young and will probably improve or at least produce better and more consistently. Add to that Winfield, which I think is a HUGE addition to the nickle CB spot. I think coverage will be good enough that it will allow pass rush to catch up to the QB. I think the additions to our DL will make our pass rush better anyways, so I honestly don't see teams tearing us up through the air. Teams will have to run the ball on us to set up the pass, and that typically doesn't lend to a high scoring offense.

I'm going to go with 4th for yardage on defense. I speculate team will have to throw on us a lot to try to catch up, and that usually racks up the yardage on a defense. Conversely, if our offense takes over games, and runs the ball with dominance in the 2nd half, we will have a well rested defense that isn't on the field a lot, so yardage won't suffer too badly.

The Homer in me wants to agree with Kearly on points differential. I think we're going to crush some of the bad teams, but Petey is a good sport so we'll run the ball a lot to close out games, thus keeping the overall score down. Look to the additions at RB to see what the plan is. Our Defense is talented and proud; I don't think they will want anyone to score on them, and they will want to keep ahaed of the Niner's defensive ranking.

#6 offense and #3 defense.

It'll will be very very hard to beat the teams like Saints, Patriots, Broncos, etc. because they will be running plays at a much faster pace than the Seahawks. With a good run game and good defense, PC will slow things down.
