Patriots had to pick him up right before the NFL vacation so now the talking fools at ESPN can have something to blather on about for six weeks.

Yippee.

Its kind of a non story, when was the last time a QB hit on 75% of his passes and was not picked up the next year?
Never...I think this move was expected.

I do think the "Burn him" and "Off with his head" comments are funny...
Can you name another player who you said "off with his head" Due to you did not like his throwing motion? Or is there another reason?

It don't matter, Tebow proved the media and blind fans wrong again...he is a wanted QB at the NFL level!!! Deal with it!!!
TEBOW IS MANNNN - NE Fans Espn

I hope he has fun in NE!

Is that a quote or your thoughts?

That 75% was 6 of 8 for 39 yards for the whole of last year. You could also word it this way - "Nearly 20% of his passing yards came against Seattle"

Its both, I didnt pull that information out of the air and its my thoughts as well.

If you want to play the "You can word it like this" game, take a look who is the Jets all time passing % leader as a QB.

You have to tip your hat to the Pats for going out and getting a winner like Tebow. How many teams have 2 playoff winning QBs?

Not many, and not us.

There are some here that should spend the rest of the week eating. So as a friend I thought I would help by offering a recipe to mix it up for you! Its called the...

Tebow Crow Pie:
1 crow
stuffing of your choice
salt and pepper
shortening
flour
2 Pie crust mixes
2-3 hard-boiled eggs

Stuff the crow. Loosen joints with a knife but do not cut through.
Simmer the crow in a stew-pan, with enough water to cover, until nearly tender, then season with salt and pepper. Remove meat from bones and set aside.
Prepare pie crusts as directed. (Do not bake)
Make a medium thick gravy with flour, shortening, and juices in which the crow has cooked and let cool.
Line a pie plate with pie crust and line with slices of hard-boiled egg. Place crow meat on top. Layer gravy over the crow. Place second pie dough crust over top.
Bake at 450 degrees for 1/2 hour.
Enjoy!

Pennington!

Thing is, if Tebow was as good as people say, why couldn't he beat out Sanchez last year in a 6-10 season? I only saw the Seahawk game, but Sanchez was absolutely woeful in that.

Nope, over 8 years with the jets Pen hit on 60.025%. So guess again and a hint for you is "TT" at 75%

That is a good question that you asked...why would they pull a guy that is hitting on 75% of his passes when they are trying to see who should start? I am not sure of the answer but there were FO firings after that season.

Tebow did his what he was asked, The Pats noticed that and picked him up

He's probably only been signed because he was a Jet and Belichick wants to embarrass them with their old player

He was signed because he is a winner that fit what Bill is doing in NE.

A question to any poster that says "they signed him to fire him" or " They signed him to embarrass others"

When has Bill done that before? Bill seems to be a low key classy guy!

I'm glad Tebow found a squad to give him a shot. Sure, it's ugly, but dude's still 8-4 as a starter with a playoff win. You cant tell me he was worse than any bum the Jets, Jags or Cards rolled out last year. He deserves and earned a job, somewhere in the NFL. I still say starter, but not on my team.

I dont know man, the NFL robbed me of watching Flutie and Moon also. I cant help but get deja vu over the Tebow thing.

Maybe Belichek has the voodoo power to convince Tebow to play H-back.

You and I can throw yesterdays stats out the door, thankfully 2013/14 Tebow will show if he has anything!

Bill will use Tebow right, Super late in huge blowouts. Getting him his reps, so Tim is ready.

I don't blame Tebow for balking at a position change last year. Why should he have?

This year I bet he will.

Tebow won't even be active for blow outs. Someone forgot about Ryan Mallett.

I'd laugh if Tebow was never active for a game with New England this year. Tebow fans need to find something else to obsess unnecessarily over.

I think Ryan Mallett forgot about Ryan Mallett. 2 years 4 passes. One pass was an INT, two hit the ground and one hit the WR. Thats 25%.
He could be amazing, but he has yet to show it.

When you're behind Tom Brady and there hasn't been a blow out, I don't think here's a reason for Mallett to play.

You (see anyone) can root for, dislike, or be indifferent towards any player, this is America..... But, and I'm not trying to be Richard Cranium when I ask this, but does his outwardness in expressing and promoting his religion have anything to do with you liking the guy? Just curious. I'm not slamming you if that's the reason or part of the reason, just wondering.

I was watching and enjoying his play at FLA long before I knew of his personal views.
But the fact that Tim is a class act who holds to his beliefs and values makes me like him, sure.
When a guy puts his views out there and lives by it, whats not to like? Very few step up in life like Tebow.

Is there anything in sports more overrated than the "Patriot Mystique"...?

The Patriots are perennial contenders in the AFC because of two words: Tom. Brady.

The Patriots drafts have been relatively bad for the better part of the last decade. For every Rob Gronkowski there have been about 5 Bethel Johnson's.

I guarantee if ANY other team signed Tim Tebow, they'd be seen as a laughing stock.. but since the Patriots do it.. it's "OH THIS COULD WORK!"

Why could it work? Why would you mess with the best quarterback in football just to get some gimmicky out of position full back into the game. You don't think every defensive coordinator in football is BEGGING for the Patriots to do this a few times a game? Tom Brady on the field = threat to score a touchdown on any play. Tim Tebow on the field = 2 yard run to the left, middle, or right.

Eh, you're implying that's practically the only reason. Remember when Brady went out for the season in the first quarter of the first game of the year a few years back, and Matt Cassel led the Patriots to an 11-5 record?

Just sayin'. They're not the equivalent of the Colts with Peyton Manning.

Hardly a terrible division at that point.

I think I might be the only one on here who agrees with you about this.

Tebow definitely got a raw deal, and the media almost killed his chances of ever playing in the NFL again. I hope he proves a lot of people wrong, but at each and every opportunity, no matter how small the mistake, he's going to be catching a lot of criticism. He just needs to punch someone in the face. A media guy, preferably.

Matthew 6:6 is why the love of Tebow makes me sick. When Kurt Warner goes on record that Tebow is too overt with his religion you know he's gone too far.

If Tebow was just a player instead of an icon for a certain segment of people he'd already be out of football. If you believe anything else you are delusional. Many good college QBs wash out in the NFL but because he's a poster child for people who feel threatened by our modern society we have to put up with this crap over and over again.

Give me a break, Nate; the media didn't kill crap. He had a lengthy opportunity in Denver to prove he can be an NFL QB.

We'll agree to disagree. I don't care what stats or records you throw at me, playing the; Jets, Bills and Phins 6 times a year is a blessing to the Pats. They're still great, but its still a isht division.

It is now, I agree, but my point was about that comment saying the Patriots are worthless without Brady, and I pointed out that in a very tough division race without him that particular year, they still did quite well.

The Patriots simply do not have the makings of a 2-14 season in them even if they're led by Curtis Painter.

Bears we're also 13-3 under Dick Jauron. The Dolphin's didn't sustain that success, it was a blip. It's been a BAD division for quite some time. You're either trolling or out of touch by aruging otherwise, IMO. Either way...have fun.

I agree that it has been a bad division for quite some time. That doesn't change the fact that in that year, an 11-5 team didn't win the division, just like we didn't with that record last year. Geez, just because I don't 100% agree with each word, letter, syllable and nuance of your post doesn't mean I'm trolling or an out-of-touch idiot.

Good luck to him there. Gets to reunite with Josh McDaniel.

For the life of me, I still do not understand the fascination with this guy. I mean there have been a lot of Championship caliber college QBs come into the league and not be able to cut it. Some of this is media fueled but fans in general are all over this story every time it rears its head. He should have gone to Jacksonville when he had the trade options last year, now he is stuck hoping to get a break to show his skills.

Forgetting the big picture excitement about this player, landing with a solid team and working in the background for a few seasons may help him. This will probably be the first QB room where he isn't a threat due to his popularity and he can learn from one of the all-time greats, even if it is just observing and discussing strategy in the QB room.

If Skip Bayless wasn't all over his nutz and the media would stop losing their minds, I could pull for the guy to succeed on a long term basis, not just a late season run in Denver that had some magic to it. There have been several magical seasons down the years of NFL history. Pay his dues and get another shot 2-3 years down the road, if that ever happens.

And the TeBow show continues. He actually found a job ... earlier than JaMarcus Russell.
I have my doubts he plays QB. Ryan Mallet is really good.

I'm glad to see Tebow picked by an NFL. I enjoyed watching him play at Florida and it had been disappointing that his success in college hasn't continued. It will be interesting to see if Tebow makes a position change seeing as he will be playing behind Brady and likely Mallet.
