  • Thinking about attending just to see Cheap Trick and await the 49ers and party in Washington during the nicest time of year to be there.

Is it any fun? Outside of Alaska, StateFairs probably don't really differ from state to state, do they?

  • Yup it is. I live in an area less than a mile from it.

If you attend, you're welcome to crash here, pooky. Just because you dont love me anymore doesn't mean you cant use the spare room. Anyone from this dump of a site is always welcome.

But, I only cuddle with those with clever screen names.

  • The state fair is Puyallup.

    http://www.thefair.com/puyallup-fair/

The one in Monroe is the Evergreen Fair. AKA, the Evergreen state Fair. But the Puyallup is the official state fair. Always rated in the top 10 in the world.

But it's been 15-20 years since I've been there. So I can't really help other than that.

  • Our county fair this year has Whitesnake.

You can sleep in my extra bedroom, provided you never speak of the night again, and if you wear underpants - it is something unusual.

  • Will the Whitesnake show include pyrotechnics too? Love it when Whitesnake does that. It kills, everytime.

  • I don't think I ever made it out to the Puyallup even though it always seemed like that was where the real party was. I had to just accept the petting zoo at Monroe with the rest of the window lickers.

  • I have ample parking at my place to any .Netters who wish to park for free. I live about 1/2 block directly north of the fairgrounds. BFS, look me up come September.

It's pretty good fun. Many of us who have been dozens of time will say it's getting outrageously pricey to go, especially if you are a fan of rides and/or have kids that do. So bring cash!

But there's a decent/overpriced beer garden and a ton of great food. My step son will be showing pigeons in this year's fair, that ought to be entertaining...

  • Haven't been to the Puyallup in years, probably since high school when we'd get a day off to shuttle on down there. It was getting pricey then, can only imagine what it is now.
