Let's say It's Irvin...bulking up + PED suspension = Better improve a lot if you want to stay here

Irvin isn't going anywhere, even if Irvin were to never become the full time leo. As long as he learns some more pass rushing moves he'd have a role as a pass rushing specialist.

I do agree with the Irvin pick, Im hoping that him bulking up + an offseason of coaching can help him learn some pass rushing moves and improve his rush defense.

I don't really think Irvin is going anywhere (assuming he doesn't have repeat PED issues). I was just trying to fit all that information into one smart alecky sentence

Kam Chancellor. He just didn't seem himself for most of last season, but a few times near the end of the year (SF, etc) he started to kick ass again. He's had ankle/foot surgery since then and claims to feel much better. Maybe it's just press talk, but it's not hard to believe that something was holding back Kam for most of last season.

I recall Kam getting surgery practically the day after Seattle was eliminated from the playoffs to take care of whatever it was that was bothering him, so I'm guessing he opted to play all 2012 through discomfort and tough it out with intentions to get the needed procedure as soon as the season culminated. I remember thinking "Wow, he's not wasting any time getting ready for 2013" at the time.

Actually, Irvin is going places. But as a Seahawk, of course. DAMN he looks like he can kick ass in that pic compared to a year ago!

Chancellor?...Really?

Dude just got re-upped, and had surgery, it wasn't like he was a liability, even injured.

Actually, I should have reworded the title of the thread to non injured players because it is easy to pick injured players to rebound.

And Irvin had 9 sacks in spot duty, how is it a turnaround for him?

People are changing reality to suit their perceptions, Largent. You can't seriously be surprised by this, can you? ;)

Did he not have a down year as far as coverage goes? Yes he was still good but everyone (at least I thought) knew he was not 100% and was kind of off last year. I expect him to be fully healthy and return to 2011 form.

You didn't say the pick had to be the player that would have the biggest turnaround or had a horrible season.

In all fairness, "turnaround" player was never defined... so it's open to interpretation.

I foresee Irvin getting more reps and doing more things than just a pass rushing lineman. We all saw that he wasn't really ready to be an every down guy in the playoffs after Clemons was hurt, but I think he will turn that around and become more of an every down player and get reps at LB as well to make him a more complete player.

Of course I am lumping Improvement in with Turn around. I just look at it not so much as a good player who had a bad year and will turn it around and be good again, but more along the lines of what player will turn around his performance on many levels and improve his play over last season (previous seasons not withstanding)

I am going with....

1. Carpenter
2. Thurmond
3. Sweezy
4. Toomer
5. Any WR/TE because of the Wilson/Harvin duo.

OK, to simplify it, name a player (s) that you think will have a rebound from last year (s) and if they were injured or healthy.

See, when you say rebound, it sounds like someone that was on one level, fell below that level last year, and will return to form this year. So in that case, I pick Chancellor (injured but played through it).

Avril. Huge disappointment last year. Needs to bounce back and improve to 12+ sacks. I think he will.

Also, Red is gonna get his swagger back.

The coolest thing though, is I could put 10 guys up here as 'if' candidates and if they all failed to turn around, I'd still expect to be in the conference title game. Short of Wilson or Thomas going down, this team as is with warts and all looks prime to compete at the very highest level.
