Good luck with the new team, Marcus!

  • So many fond memories of Trufant. Only thing I don't like seeing as a fan, is long time Seahawks finishing their careers somewhere else. Not saying that the reality isn't the reality, but still, I'm going to hold on to my rose glasses of Seattle sports.

  • I'm happy he gets to keep his career going. Obviously, there just wasn't a spot left for him here, but he isn't that old (32). Jacksonville is a good place for him to go. He can mentor the young secondary that Gus is developing.

  • I'd love to see him stay healthy and play good ball, he kind of went out poorly last season with our younger corners starting to take time from him. I hope 15 of his 16 games are a big success.

Could be he knows a Seattle weak link could be a Jacksonville strong suit. Comparatively, anyway.

  • Trufant also isn't a good fit for the Nickel slot/Zone. He's always been much better on the outside, where I suspect he'll have a better shot at playing in JAX.

Nothing but best wishes to him. Tru has been a rock on & off the field for this franchise, community & entire frickin' state for almost 2 decades.

I'm sick of chasing after my dreams. I'm just going to find out where they're headed, and catch up with them later.

  • Congrats to him. Hopefully he makes the final 53. He can get you to the ground, tackling was never a weak point for him. That back problem he has though is going to be the one thing that probably derails his attempt at extending his career. Gus should think about moving him to safety.

  • Trufant is not underappreciated on here - historically. Any decent Seahawks fan knows how good he has been for us, and how professional he has been. What people have noticed is how he has slowed down a bit the last few seasons, mostly just getting older.

I love Tru...one of my all time favorite Hawks. But he's not the same player anymore, clearly. It happens to the best of em.

A agree wholeheartedly. Great story, stayed in WA his whole career.

On being not appreciated, not so much agreement. I have heard folks say stuff, but I bet even Russell made somebody mad at one time. Wait...

I think the Harmon brothers (Ronnie, Kevin, Derrick) came close, but pretty sure Derrick was out of the league a year before Kevin came to the Hawks.

Before the back injury, there was a good stretch of 3-4 years where you could make the case Trufant was the most dangerous guy on the whole team with the ball in his hands. Think he only wound up with 2-3 TD's in his career, but any INT he got where there was some space to work with, he always came within a few hairs of breaking it - very Golden Tate-ish. I've always thought that if Holmgren had taken some chances and used him on PR or some trick O plays, he could've really been electric.

I'll admit, I didn't like him ever really. Although he wasn't a Ruskell pick.......he reminds me of the Ruskell era. Just my opinion, please don't get your panties in a bunch. I want to forget that time.

One of my favourite Seahawks, would have liked him to retire as a 'Hawk but hope he is a success at his new team - he has 2 TD's from interceptions and he is that brilliant one vs Washington

  • And then there were none.

With Trufants signing and the earlier designation of Hills number to Avril the last of the 2005 XL Seahawks is gone. In fact at present there are only 4 players on the 91 man roster who were not picked by this regime.

Thanks for you service Marcus you will always be a Seahawk to me.

Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to completely take the final step. That was done and the final step was taken.

Super Bowl XLVIII Champions at last after 38 seasons.

    What a special magical year!

Nothing but best wishes to him. Tru has been a rock on & off the field for this franchise, community & entire frickin' state for almost 2 decades.

Man, that's what having a bulldozer collapsing the pocket does for your secondary... what a play... it's what we were missing last year and hoping we have on a consistant basis this year.

Oh ya, so long Marcus. Always a fan.

    I never would have guessed.

Good for him. His chances of making this roster were slim at best. There he has a chance to play and teach.

Is Bradley going to run our system? People always say Bradleys system and the Leo but we know its Petes. Is he taking it or we don't know?
