This does not surprise me at all. I knew Stern was not going to let Seattle be a part of the NBA as long as he's a part of the league.

Yep. As this drug out further, I started thinking the same thing. The writing was on the wall even before this vote. We had a much better plan, more money and support, a much larger market, and yet Sacramento was "the more appealing city" for the franchise? Yea, it was a crock of steaming turds then and it is now.

Better plan, more support, larger market = unanimous "no" vote. Sure. Anybody want some of that beachfront property in Arizona Stern's listing on eBay?

Kings attendance ranks in the past 5 years...
2012-2013 - 30th (LAST)
2011-2012 - 27th
2010-2011 - 29th
2009-2010 - 29th
2008-2009 - 30th (LAST)

But attendance is part of the reason the Sonics were moved? Sac offers less money, less of a plan and have awful attendance. Stern must genuinely have it out for Seattle

They'll still be dead last when the Maloofs don't sell the team, so theres that and in a few years they'll be back at this again, maybe then they'll realize that Sacramento isn't a suitable market anymore, but hey maybe they wont

Good job NBA!

The Sonics had approximately 95% attendance capacity in Key Arena in the years leading up to 2008. The Kings have consistently been at a lower percentage of around 72-85%. Sleep Train Arena even has a slightly lower Basketball capacity than Key Arena...

Wow. The pain from the first time the NBA raped us is still real. Guess they wanted seconds.

Ouch.

The NBA had to go with Sacramento if they ever wanted a local government to trust them again. That doesn't make this hurt any less, and the NBA handled this whole thing like a bunch of idiots. But I guess charity still lives in this world, because that is what Sacramento just got

No way the relocation committee makes this recommendation without some assurances from the Maloof's that they would sell to the Sacramento group is what I am thinking. Maybe the NBA wants to wait out the Maloofs and force them to deal with KJ's group but I would expect that once the BOG votes, the Maloofs reject the binding offer from Hansen so they can start working with the offer sheet KJ and company have on the table.

Maybe not, but at this point I guess I will just read about it. Was a good feeling for awhile when it looked like this was going to happen. Then the confidence came only to be outdone by Blitzer. In the end, turns out he was right to be worried.

The NBA has gotta get this poppin' if they dont' want to lose Seattle, I saw a tweet saying they'll work with Hansen, but it was from Montemayor.

Obviously it wasn't Stern. Couldn't have been. I mean, wasn't the return of the Sonics supposed to be his last hoo-rah? The vote was unanimous, after all.
