Harvin is all we hoped 'Korn' could be. His elusiveness comes in the form of insane cuts and bursts of speed. Tate is one quick, shifty, slippery, TOUGH SOB. He reminds me of Hines Ward in some ways. Darrell Jackson in others.

The more and more I see of Golden, the less and less I see Percy Harvin and instead see Steve Smith (Carolina one). Undersized but with the ability to go up and fight for the ball as if he were much bigger. I think Golden's going to be our Steve Smith/Jordy Nelson type guy who can just make a play on the ball in the air and rack up tough yards after the catch. I'm hoping he stays long-term.

not sure why people seem to always think Jordy Nelson is undersized. dude is 6'3" 220.

I'm still of the opinion Rice gets cut next year, Tate gets a new contract, and a big WR is a top priority in next year's draft

Long live the Tater

13 Bates, Phil 6'1 220 23 R

18 Rice, Sidney 6'4 202 26 6
83 Williams, Stephen 6'5 208 26 3

11 Harvin, Percy 5'11 184 24 4
81 Tate, Golden 5'10 202 24 3
89 Baldwin, Doug 5'10 189 24 2

I've supported cutting Tate for the last 2 years but I think he found a nitch as a frantic go to guy for Wilson. His high speed motor seems to fit that roll well. Tate has done some impressive things after the catch but I still can't help holding my breath during his plays.

Baldwins numbers fell off last year but imo he is more dependable than Tate and I expect adding Harvin will create a more competitve atmosphere.

As long as he has a good preseason I doubt he will be cut.

He's not getting cut regardless of how he does this preseason. That would be insane. Badwin/Harvin/Rice/Tate are the sure things on this receiving corps for 2013.

That sentence was poorly constructed on my part. I know Jordy Nelson's a big dude, was a big fan of his when he was coming out of K State. Meant to say that I think Tate is more like Steve Smith and that I can see him being up there with Smith and Nelson as some of the better jump ball guys in the league. I've been pimping Golden all off-season to follow the Jordy Nelson career path and absolutely go off this season.

I just get the impression that people think he's small because he's a white guy named Jordy. which makes sense.

I was very skeptical of Tate early last year but he's grown on me. He was nothing short of amazing in clutch situations. Ability to snatch the ball at the highest point possible as well as RAC skills saved games... literally saved games. Doug had some great "hands" moments though.

If you supported cutting Tate for the past 2 seasons I cant take anything else you say seriously. Sorry

Which is funny because when I first heard about him and saw his kick return stats I immediately thought "must be another Jeremy Bloom." Then, a few weeks later, I actually saw K State play and thought it was kind of funny that he was actually pretty big and pretty damn fast!

Second post of the thread. Link to Tate's interview is on there, on the lower left, under the "audio from the show" section.

McCoy get bump from the roster by Darrne Fells (fingers crossed). Championship!
