Anyone know of any sites where there are job listings?

I've been visiting Go2Worksource and Indeed for the past 4 months, and things have slowed up a bit on jobs i'm qualified for.

Is Monster still around? They used to be real popular.

I'm looking as well. I use indeed.com and Monster, but I've found that I get more interested if I look up companies I'd like to work for (google "Best companies in Seattle to work for" etc) and sign up for their job distributions.

Networking. If there is a group of people who do what you want to do / have the skills to do who have regular meetings that you can attend, attend them.

Indeed.com and Careerbuilder.com seem to be the two best sites. My Mrs. got laid off in November after 20 years on her job so I have some knowledge of this due to her situation. Some others are Craigslist.org, Linkedin.com, Simplyhired.com, Dice.com (mostly tech jobs IIRC), and Glassdoor.com.

Good luck!! (my Mrs. has had none but she is 61 years old and lacks much in the way of marketable skills e.g. computer experience)

Craigslist has a LOT of bogus ads so just be careful there.

Indeed is a good collector of many job listings.

Worksource is another although make sure you e-mail your full resume and don't just click on the on-line form.

In the end, connections and networking and friends-of-friends is what ends up working out best. Everyone you meet 7 days a week ask if they have any ideas.

One last tip for any job seeker.... you can't limit yourself to a geographic area. Your next opportunity may be in a different city. Depending on your field or interests don't be closed-minded. I moved my entire family across the state at age 42. The herds graze where the grass is growing. Don't be afraid to migrate.

Good luck everyone. Looking for work is the hardest thing you'll ever do.
