Depending on the karat weight, it's also going to scratch easily.

If you did, you could probably collect enough gold for rent money in one swipe.

The plating is probably less than 100 microns thin....adds less weight than a passenger more than likely</science>....Since it's a plating the karat is probably high (think "pure"); I cringe thinking about the first buff...
Note: I did not watch the blacked out flash video. Do people write articles anymore, or just make videos now?

edit: changed "100s of microns" to "less than 100 microns" because I did some mental math after typing.

  • Without having your science brain Smokey, I too assumed the plating would be extremely thin. It's for looks and wow-factor more than value I would think.

  • well, lightning strike would depend on height and proximity to clouds etc...an aventador is quite low...hehe

Besides all that, I really think bling ruins the looks of this particular model. The Saudis (I'm assuming) have no taste; but lots and lots of money and need to stand out next to the silver plated Rolls...
Restoring all 5k E500Es left in the world would be on my list..

Actually it's a great faraday cage. If the chassis was grounded, and you were sitting in your leather (electrically insulated) seats, you'd be pretty safe.

  • Hey Todd, where is the pic of the Lambo you had in the multi-media area on the original site back in the day? The one with it painted in hawks colors with a logo on the door?

Something with John Randle, if memory serves...
