Jealous.

What did it look like up close? Beat to hell? Even from the pics you can see the age on hit. Impressive machine.

Awesome! I'm still bummed Seattle's Museum of Flight didn't get a real one.

Agreed Todd -- the venue in LA is basically a children's museum with the shuttle attached. The good part though is the museum is free with the shuttle ticket only $2, so a lot of people will be able to see it.

Also, much of the assembly of the shuttle took place in CA so it makes sense they would get one.

Are you allowed to go inside of it at all? At the Reagan Library they have his Airforce 1 plane suspended above the crowd like that but you're also allowed to walk through it, its pretty cool. I'd imagine the space shuttle would be 10 x's cooler.

You don't get to go inside but you are very close. Just seeing the individual pieces of the heat shield is amazing.

Yeah, It flew right over my house last year, then there was the epic move from LAX to its present location. Awesome.

I took this from my balcony in Culver City.

If you want to walk inside one you need to go to Cape Kennedy. They have one there at ground level that allows a complete walkthrough.
