  • Hahahahahaha!!! Love it. If I were a member of the national east coast media intelligentsia I would do shit like this just to generate a reaction from Seahawks fans (and Dick Sherman).

    It's hilarious.

  • To be fair all of those are much bigger impact players than an Avril or a Bennett

  • I don't get it. All the FA's on that map are bigger names than either Avril or Bennett. Where's the disrespect?

  • lol you guys are so funny, it says FREE AGENT, Percy was not a free agent, Avril and Bennet are not the same kind of superstars as those free agents that are displayed, but whatever we need to do to feel disrespected I suppose xD.

  • Dude, Dashon Goldson didn't even make this graphic. All-Pro, played in the SB and went to an east coast team.

This image is obviously about name recognition. Avril and Bennett can't be too mad.

  • Regardless of how successful a NFL career Reggie Bush has had, he is still a FAR bigger name than Cliff Avril. I also think he is going to have a significant impact in Detroit.

  • I'd say that as old as Jackson is getting, he'll still help out Atlanta more than any of those other guys because Atlanta's got the high octane passing game and it could rejuvenate his career.
Richard Sherman doesn't just wanna get in your head, he wants to build a vacation home there.

They just knew the Rams would head back to LA someday. And since the old NFC West used to be the Rams and Whiners against the Falcons and Saints, things are not that different, travel-wise.

  • I think it's a mistake to need to feel that Seattle is disrespected to think they will perform well. What happens if they get that respect after winning a Super Bowl? The more impressive feat is to be expected to win and then go out and do it. If I were on the team, my mindset would be to compete only against myself and take pride in playing with utter skill and heart regardless of what anyone was saying. It should be a point of pride to treat every game the same. If you rely on emotional tricks, you're at their mercy.

The Patriots were at that level for a long time. That's the level I want to see Seattle at.

Washed up? His numbers are still there, and he can do it all. Avril is seen as 1 dimensional and is still questioned whether hes even a good player or if hes just a product of playing next to Suh. Bennetts sample size as a productive player are still very small

  • Yeah like everyone said, no disrespect here.

Avril was projected to be the most desired defensive FA but look at how everything turned out... Kruger isn't even listed here and he signed for 4x more than Avril. Where did you even find this picture?

4 yards per carry, 4 TDs & 15th overall in rushing? I'd say he's an average NFL RB and only getting older. Conversely, that "one dimension" you speak of with Avril, is the single greatest dimension that every single NFL coaching is looking for.. a pass rusher in a passing league.

  • Regardless of who opines what about player's upcoming season, everyone knows who Steven Jackson is. That alone gets him included in this sort article above players like Avril and Bennett.

In the two games Suh was out in 2011 for his infamous Thanksgiving stomp, Avril had 2.0 sacks in 2 games. Avril's sacks have nothing to do with Suh, he's a speed off the edge guy- not a inside/out technician.

  • Meh. Our FA signings aren't eye-popping by any means. They now have another Bruce Irvin and a tweener DT/DE. If Clemons doesn't recover, the D might have less sacks than last year, and the run D will definitely take a hit. Hopefully we'll get our big thumper in the draft who can immediately contribute. Even with Sneider's history of success, I will be duly impressed if he pulls it off.

  • The reason our FA signings ARE eye popping is because we got B to B+ talent at ridiculously team friendly contracts. Passionate fans know who Avril and Michael are but the vast majority of NFL fans don't.
