Lol well yea! 255! RT @cj1983_99: @BIrvin_WVU11 Are you putting any weight on for next season?

I just saw this on twitter. Some fan asked Irvin if he is putting any weight for next season and His reply was "255 lbs". Good news in my opinion.

Great to hear!

That's one of this offseasons' burning questions. Along with where Moffit is performing his comedy routine and how are Carpenter and Clemons' recoveries going.

What weight did Irvin play at last year?

He just has to find the right balance: heavy enough to not get pushed around, but light enough to still blow past guys with his speed.

I think that you could add ten pounds of bulk without losing any speed if distributed correctly. I think if he went straight top heavy, upper body weight, it mat slow him down a bit.

Bruce could carry an extra 10-15 in the legs/hams easily without sacrificing speed.

If he wants to get a better anchor, gotta start with the butt.

I have little issue with Irvin being more of a pass rush specialist, but if he can add weight to help against the run then fine. What I really want him to develop is a gawdamned spin move.

We're all going to look back and laugh over how much we griped or questioned Irvin. I think he becomes a top 5 DE next year. Just a hunch.

I'm with you 100% on this one. I think Bruce is going to be a MONSTER next year. The Rocky Dennis of the pass rush!

Let's see. 10# on a 250# frame. That's like <5% of his body weight. :229031_shrug:

I wish it was a good thing when I add 10lbs.........

It is a good thing you when add 10 lbs... of muscle.

10 pounds from the squat rack - good.

10 pounds like Bryant McKinney does it - not good.

Hopefully the 10 pounds are from maximal effort, low rep scheme lifting. If he just put on some hypertrophy fluff then it's not much use. Dude needs 10 pounds of strength.

Go Bruce Irvin! Make me look like a fool because when you were drafted, I was sure it was a mistake! Didn't take me long to come around (OTAs) but it doesn't excuse my Kiperish Ignorance!
