Week 1: Seattle vs San Francisco in Prime Time

The Essential Online Seahawks Fan Forum Community. There simply is NO substitute. RATING: PG-13
  • I think its almost a lock that we'll get one of the hyped up national primetime games. Either Sunday night or the 2nd half of the Monday night double header. I'm guessing the game will be played in Seattle because A: they'll want to highlight the best crowd in the NFL and B: they'll want to avoid the possibility of getting stabbed, shot, or beaten by going to Candlestick or whatever they call it these days.

Here's my prediction for the opening weeks Prime time games:

    TNF: New England @ Baltimore
    SNF: San Francisco @ Seattle
    MNF1: Dallas @ Washington
    MNF2: Denver @ San Diego

Or, the alternate if we get pushed to MNF because there's not many good teams out West

    TNF: Pittsburgh @ Baltimore
    SNF: Dallas @ Washington
    MNF1: Denver @ New England
    MNF2: San Francisco @ Seattle

Of course, if the Mariners are playing at home this weekend then we'll probably be on the road.

  • I'd rather take the at San Fran game early. They won't have a buttload of tape to game plan Harvin, and I want them in the Clink later on when the division should be in hot contention.

We will have the division locked up weeks before this, will actually be anticlimactic I think.

  • I am predicting three prime time games but would not be at all surprised by 4.

    I will go with
    Seattle at Indy
    San Fran at Seattle
    Saints at Seattle (BEASTQUAKE redux)

    As our 3 PrimeTime games.

Quick and funny as hell--I LOL'd.

For sure the Seahawks will be a prime time attraction this year.
The NFL can't do games just for both 'Hawk fans east of the Mississippi.
But factor in all those that want to be on the winning side and the 'Hawks
will be an easy sell this year.

PS. I haven't forgotten your use of "humble" and "duck" in the same sentence.

Love the optimism, but I just can't see this division issue being settled until the final week, MAYBE the week before.

Would still like the SF at SEA game to be the finale.

We've played a division opponent on opening weekend the last 4 years in a row (the 49ers twice).
Don't know where you got that from.
I thought they were trying to play as many divisional games on week 1 as possible to get people "hyped up" about the league starting.
The Ravens will probably play the Steelers on TNF though - you don't want to showcase your best game on rusty teams, that's a week 12 "Playoff Indicator" (ie. who will win when these teams meet in the playoffs) if ever I saw one

    ^ Winner.

It would be like the St Louis/Seattle game in 2010. Winner takes all. And probably a first round bye in the playoffs!

I blame the Pats. They cost us a Super Bowl.

  • If they schedule us to play against the 49ers on Prime time, I'd prefer it to be towards the end of the season with the division on the line.

But if it is Week 1, at least Harvin will be healthy then (maybe)

I remember a lot of Arizona games as our first division opponent, not 49ers, maybe there is a reason for that, they stunk it up it didn't register where the Cards had Warner at the time.

  • I would love an opening weekend prime time game.
    '
That being said, i would prefer for both us, and Sanfran to get a few games under their belts before we meet.

I'm hoping for a week 5 match up in prime time.

This would make for a better game, and probably a better indicator of where both our teams are talent wise as this would allow chemistry to develop between our new acquisitions and the rest of the team.

Ideally I would prefer to play at Seattle mid season and the Stick towards season end. In that order for the same reason you guys want the opposite. ;)
    DISCLAIMER:

The trash talking that I do occasionally this week is strictly for gamesmanship between opposing fanbases as a result of our upcoming matchup this week on SNF. It by no means should be taken personally.

  • The "drama" will be the Seahawks beating the 49ers' (collective) asses in Week One.

Then,...........we don't meet again until the finale.

Now THAT,.........would be some genius programming.

  • I'd be down for a MNF week one against the 49ers and then whenever the final flex games (I think week 16) of the year are, a SNF for the division title. Epic. Unless of course it ends up as the same smackdown as last season...
