http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/11/world/eur ... signation/"Rome (CNN) -- The spiritual leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, Pope Benedict XVI, surprised the world Monday by saying he will resign at the end of the month "because of advanced age."" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes"112 Peter the Roman, who will nourish the sheep in many tribulations; when they are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The end." According to this prophecy, this will be the last pope. This is not scripture, but there are some people that are keeping an eye out.....including myself. I hope you can all sleep better tonight....

We know what he's giving up for Lent.
In all seriousness, I'm surprised this has happened so rarely. I think it's good that he looked at it with a level head and considered a few more factors than just a lifetime post to the highest religious post in the world.
Haven't heard of the prophecy of the popes, but I'd bet he's not going to be the last one.

Does anyone really care about the Pope still? I mean isn't he like the Queen of England? Just there?

Many people scoff at European figure heads, but they have power and influence....more so than most care to know about. Most Canadians don't know they have a Monarch. The Queen has as much respect towards the common people, as Americans have towards the Head of England and the commonwealth. If you don't think they have influence, look how they are treated when they visit countries and who they are around. The Queen and the head of the catholic church are both part of the global elite. If you don't think so, than keep voting, because it sure seems that the common man in America sure has a say in things. Joe the Plummer for President! Dream on. Believe it or not, this is a major event in history, and people should know what previous leaders of the catholic churches have done in the past. Adolf Hitler and the pope had an agreement called the concordat. Oh wait, it doesn't matter......Seinfeld is on! "No soup for you!"

Makes no matter to me. I was merely pointing out that the joke wasn't funny, because it wasn't really even using the most basic information. The best part of jokes like this is the ring of truth they have in them. When you just say it without it having the ring of truth it has no humor, therefor it's not really what I call a "win"

So kid, since humor is subjective and you didn't find it funny then therefore it is not a joke?

It's not like you have to read between the lines, I said in the VERY FIRST SENTENCE that it was a joke. What I went on to do was explain why I think it's not funny. You can think whatever you wish.
