2012 was a great draft for the seahawks, mainly with drafting Russell Wilson in the third round. Although 8 out of there 10 picks defensive players (minus JR) and we seen a significant increase in our defense.

2013's draft will be a more balanced selection of players with our first round pick going to a offensive position to help RW. RW's performance in the pro bowl was a defining moment with the need for a receiving TE. A true "go to guy" on third down and to be that red zone receiver that RW can relay on to get open. I do believe that finding RW a receiver that can get open on a regular basis will be addressed in the first two rounds of this draft.
I know PC has stated that we need to address the pass rush, which can be done a couple differant ways, but I believe that issue is secondary to our offensive needs.

If you flop the TE pick with the DT pick, I believe that is a pretty fair guess on what the Hawks will do.

I can also foresee the Hawk trading Matt Flynn on draft day by swapping either 2nd or 3rd round picks with either Kansas City or more likely, with Jacksonville.

I could also see the Hawks doing the same trade with the Jets, but that would have to be a swap of 2nd round picks in order to get the right value for Flynn considering the Jets pick 9th.

I disagree with the OP. Zach Miller is a proven receiving TE. What is needed is letting Zach be just that. Therefore drafting a receiving TE shouldn't be first priority (IMO) and nowhere near day draft pick. There are areas with more significant needs such as DT, DE, OLB, OT, and WR. It will be a travesty if they choose to pick a TE in the first round. But stranger things have happened.

If we get consistent Gaurd play Miller can be in the pattern more and show his receiving skills, cart before the horse situation just as our D line needs pressure and penetration so our secondary doesn't get deep balls thrown on them and they are not in coverage as long. Snyone in the NFL can get open given 4 or 5 seconds to make some additional cutbacks etc.

They are/have been looking for a receiving TE though, that was the reason they brought in Winslow. Miller is a good receiver but he is not dynamic, he is however a GREAT Blocker. What they are looking for is an Aaron Hernandez type....Zach Miller is not that.

I anticipate another defense heavy year. We need to draft at least 2 defensive lineman, maybe 3. Drafting safety help and competition at CB would be advisable- we saw first hand how valuable depth at CB was this last season, and at the minimum we'll have to replace Trufant on the roster. Also need more fast linebackers.

The offense can be improved and I expect them to take advantage of a deep WR/TE draft class. They will probably add a backup QB. Whether people like it or not, I think we are set at OL. Basically, our offense is set, and our defense is under construction. It might take many more years before our defense is finally where Pete wants it to be- because some of the players he still needs to complete it are very hard to acquire.

There not good enough at WR and they have no depth there either.

Pass rush is the #1 need. No question. Carroll's already made that clear.

Secondary need for me is either a big target for Wilson or a WILL.

I think it will be :
1. DT
2. WR/TE
3. DE
4. OLB

Pass rush ok who did you have in mind. I agree it's a need but who can that get that's really warrants the 25th pick.

I don't know. But it's not the secondary need to any area of the offense, even if you can't fill the hole with the #25 pick.

I would add that I think the 2012 Seahawk defense ended up overloaded with too many specialists. I think they need to add a few more complete and well rounded players that can play all three downs ...... especially up front.

NOTE: Football Outsiders statistics suggest the Seahawk defense was the most inconsistant .... up and down .... unit in the NFL. Their defensive statistical variance was 32an in the league.

Until free agency has been addressed, guessing the order of importance is kind of pointless.

Not at all. Pass rush whether we pick up someone on FA is still a major need for this team. We have no pass rush right now and with Clemons and Branch unavailable at the moment, it's going to take multiple players to fill that need. Anyway, that's what a forum is for, speculatin' and opinionatin'

Floyd will be a top-ten pick. There's almost no chance he falls to #25. I'm not keen on the second pick either - a second round right tackle? Breno doesn't need replacing.
