Wow, the real story here is how a gun jumped off a table and shot a man to death. It's certainly the guns fault that this ex-seal got shot, and certainly not anything else. Also I hear the gun escaped in a pick-up truck, I think we should outlaw pick-up trucks too!

:242733: :242733: :242733: I'm trying really really hard :242733: :242733: :242733: to imagine a scenario :242733: :242733: :242733: in which a gun ban actually prevents the man from obtaining a gun... :242733: :242733: :242733:

...but nothing's happening.

Mental health once again an issue in a shooting.

If they had just had a couple of good guys with guns at the site, this tragedy could have been averted.

It was averted. Nobody else there got killed, it didn't turn into a massacre. Unlike places where crazies show up and nobody else is allowed to have a gun, then they justt go off until they run out of ammo or get tired.

how do you know there was anybody else there? They said the bodies were found. Sounds like bad guy killed two good guys and drove off in his buddies pickup.

Vols right, kinda shoots the shit out of the good guy/bad guy argument.

RIP

I could link hundreds of stories about crimes that were prevented by guns.

I don't think anyone has ever claimed that good guys with guns can stop all tragedies.

According to Wayne LaPierre, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."

In this scenario, apparently, the only thing that stopped a bad guy with a gun was a lack of targets or a lack of interest. Because Routh shot the two men he was with and then just left.

Quote:
After the shootings, Routh left the shooting range in Kyle's black pickup truck, Bryant said, first going to his sister's home in Midlothian, where he told her and her husband what he had done. The couple called local police.

Routh arrived at his home in Lancaster, about 17 miles southeast of Dallas, at about 8 p.m. Police arrested him after a brief pursuit and took him to the Lancaster Police Department.

Well then ultimately, he was stopped with a good guy with a gun (the police). ;)

I'm not for gun bans, but even I recognize that 'good guy' guns are not for stopping crimes but for retaliatory actions. (Not necessarily vengeance, but firings after the initial onslaught.)

Lets just say, I got really pissed at DTex. I decided to go buy a gun. I have no criminal record and I can buy whatever I want.

How do you feel about that?

Most criminals are created from "law abiding citizens" that according to people that know them, "Are very nice, easy to get along with, never anything weird about them, I can't believe this happened"......95% of the time you hear that.

Criminals with guns are actually/usually citizens with no record.

So is that a hypothetical or a threat?

I'm not concerned either way.
