There is this little thing called the 2nd amendment of the United States constitution, your guns are safe, though you may just have to put down the NRA/GOA propaganda to realize it.

If you think people's guns are "safe" after this incident, you are must be smoking some really good crack. Obama doesn't have a reelection to worry about now. He, along with loud mouthed Democrats like Diane Feinstein are going to take every step they can to put a permanent version of the Brady Bill into effect.

NOPE, I'm not the one who is believing the spoonfed NRA/GOA propaganda like you are.

Were you this upset when your hero (Dubya and his private army, see Blackwater) disarmed and took American citizen's guns away in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina? Or did you not know about that because they didn't mention it on Fox News Channel or the other right wingnut site you frequent. I didn't hear your NRA/GOA even squawk once about it. If anybody is going to take your guns, its going to be your "conservative" friends, as they have a history of doing so.

See: The Revolutionary War. You know, that peasant army that rose up and drove the Brits out of our country, paving the way for our independence? You see, our forefathers had this crazy idea that if you want people to stop fucking you over, you might need to shoot at them a few times first. Are you so naive as to think that this would never again become necessary?

Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and a veritable slough of South American and African dictators have long been fans of tight restrictions on the right to bear arms.

You left out George W Bush.... ask the citizens of New Orleans during Katrina who had their guns seized by Dubya's private army, Blackwater. But that was OK because he was your guy right?

My guy? Really? Are you really that dense? I'm the same person who started the poll "Is George Bush a war criminal" a few years back, and voted "yes". I am about the last person on earth who would support him.

That said, perhaps you should check your facts before misdirecting your vitriol as the confiscation occurred at the orders of the mayor and police superintendent of New Orleans, not George Bush, but don't let inconvenient things like facts get in the way of a perfectly good (though baseless) anti-conservative rant.

Ironically, George Bush did more to promote the 2nd Amendment in his two terms than any President ever has. Much as I hate the man, that's just a cold, hard, fact.

You might be selling that line of utter BULLSHIT, but no one outside of your little "conservative flock" here is buying it....... SHIT, I might need a tank to protect myself from you 'nutters, can the NRA/GOA help me find one for legal sale?

What about guns used for hunting? This is directed at you folks who want ALL guns removed, because they are unnecessary.

Oh shut up.

The 10,000 residents of Alaska are allowed to have guns to hunt eskimoes, walruses and be the first responders to a Russian invasion.

It would be easier to just have said yes, but this will do :)

There are plenty of people who need to hunt to provide food. Others do it because they like the taste of venison and such, especially if they killed it themselves. I'm not surprised you think otherwise.

lol. Foam at the mouth in anger much? Feel free to debate anything I've posted. Do bear in mind, though, that debate involves citation of these crazy things called "facts", and they hold a lot more weight than an irrational emotional response.

More arrogant, holier than thou rhetoric. Smokin is the type of person that likes to have long conversations about how great and witty he is. The type of person that has completely shut off the voice of self criticism that balances most people out. Borderline sociopath with a tendency for delusions of grandeur.

Don't let anything he says affect your opinions. Any reaction is a boost to his ego.

Good point. Who needs to do a lot of the things we do? Regulating our actions to save lives is important. What other unnecessary frivolities can we ban to protect us from ourselves? Let's make a list!

Let’s get it over with, just ban personal responsibility and freedom. They are both archaic and have no useful purpose in the new world :thirishdrinkers:

ROFL. My comment as quoted holds true for you as well.

This is the internet, jackass. If I were the only forthright asshole vehemently defending his opinion, your words might bear some weight, however the irony here is truly delicious. You are equally guilty, though you probably won't see it because your position comes from the misguided, bleeding heart ideal that one random person's life is worth more than the rights of millions. The right to free speech has gotten people killed in the past, yet I don't see you railing to curtail it. Isn't one life worth more than the right of millions, to enjoy free speech?

Borderline sociopath? Really? And what, exactly, qualifies you to make such a diagnosis then spout it via an internet forum so libelously? Nobody is more critical of me than myself, though it's a little foolish of you to expect me to vocalize that self-criticism in an internet forum. What am I supposed to do, take a transcript of my inner monologue and submit it for your inspection? Get real, you pretentious fuck. How about cleaning the sand from your passive aggressive vag and presenting a debate rather than resort to defamatory remarks when your argument can't hold water?

I know my strengths well enough to have made the most of them. Grandeur is in the eye of the beholder, so I am flattered that you see it in me. I hold no delusions about myself. When I wake up and look in the mirror each morning, I see an educated, bearded, balding, 32 year old, caucasian male, with boundless ambition, a plush yearly income, cushy job, modestly profitable small business, spacious home on riverfront property, a wonderful girlfriend, two cars (bought and paid for), two of the best parents ever, a fiercely independent streak, and a disdain for other people nosing into my business. I harbor no delusions here. I think you just can't handle the way in which I convey my arguments. I'm blunt, to the point, and I pull no punches. If you are expecting a kinder and gentler debate from me, you are barking up the wrong tree.

All said, I would rather be accused of being a sociopath than a little bitch who lets his emotions override practical thinking like a 13 year old girl on the rag. Put that in your holier than thou pipe and smoke it.

Is it worth living under the arbitrary mandate of a select few to protect those who are responsible from those who are not?

I don't think you know what arbitrary means because these laws are by no means arbitrary.

And yes, we should protect those who are responsible from those who are not. If we only had responsible people we wouldn't need laws.
