It's a stupid question because no life has any specific value. To someone that person is worth every dollar on the planet (maybe that someone is themselves).

Saving a life is too general of a question.

Actually, it should be "pro-birth" since most anti-abortion folks tend to not give a fuck what happens to a human once it's born.

I'm starting to wonder if anti-abortion social conservative types secretly want tons of unwanted children to be born just so they can look them in the face and say, "Quit stealing my tax dollars, you fucking socialist freeloader." :stirthepot:

I'm scared to know what a few people on this forum think about the OP's question in their heart of hearts, but are too smart to potentially admit on the forum.

Human life is just not very valuable. Yes, I just said that; and you know what? The facts are on my side. If we actually valued human life, and not just those we know/care about, there wouldn't be a billion+ people living in poverty around the world. How many people here sponsor a child in another country for $20/month or whatever it costs?

Everyone will claim they value human life, but there's little evidence to support that assertion.

Never been sure I could trust those things or not. "Just pennies a day" always had a ring of dishonesty to it, to me. I donate to direct causes as often as possible. I don't have a lot but I give what I can. Could I give more? Sure, but that doesn't mean I don't value human life. I can imagine no scenario where I've supported the killing of humans. It's never happened. I value human life.

Think about it: If Bin Laden was happy he probably wouldn't have conspired with Geroge W. Bush to kill all those people.

I am kind of trolling because I knew exactly how Roland would respond to my post but I am actually being honest about how I feel.

I try to act selflessly as often as possible. I fail a lot. I'm not the only one. I bet you even do it too without even thinking about it.

I guess we might just have different ideas of what it means to "value human life".

Well, it's definitely up for interpretation; but it's easy to SAY one values human life, it's altogether a different thing to prove it on an ongoing basis.

Also, if you were to say that in front of my real-life friends, I think they'd laugh loudly. (Assuming I try to act selflessly a lot.)

Well, you might just be a real life jerk. There's a lot of those too.

So what, in your opinion, does it mean to value human life? Honestly curious now.
