The only Tom Hardy movie I've seen is Lawless, which I really liked, I think he'll make a great Max. I really don't mind remakes (I know this is a "sequel.") I mean every movie these days is rehashed from something done years ago anyway, might as well cut the shit and just tell us what movie they stole the idea from right out of the gate. Plus I've kind of always liked seeing old movies from my youth (or my parents youth) redone with new ideas and updated quality.
Also, Batman was broke already. Heath Ledger fixed it, and then it broke again when he died.

Shark Hawk nailed it.
I think Mad Max was Mel's first movie,
Road Warrior is among the best (80's cold war) Post Apocalyptic films, I believe there is a part in the chase scene where a stunt man dies, and its still in the final cut.
Thunder dome was kinda like Temple of Doom, it tried too hard to keep the magic going and ends up Hokey.
I like this knid of Re-boot, not re-make.

Here's a lil bit o production shots from filming, highlighting some of the vehicles built. It took about two years to begin filming, because they had to fabricate the cars. This is why the movie will rule, George Miller isn't going to go the CGI/effect route.
Seriously, I'm not sure how any male could NOT dig shit like this.

These vehicles look awesome! Man I really really hope they don't screw this up. Road Warrior was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

Thank you for posting this.
Another comment. I hope this sucker is a hard "R" rating. Not a Prometheus "we'll change it to an 'R' for marketing but it's actually PG-13". I want a dystopic, nasty, violent Max moviel.

Of course I'll post this. Mad Max movies are as vital to my childhood as Krieg, Nash, Jeff Bryant or Skansi are.

To whomever said 'The Road Warrior' was the first MadMax movie...
You are off. Way off. Off by 2 years and a continent or 2.
The original Mad Max was an Australian film released in 1979. It is badass.
The best thing about the decent sequel (Road Warrior) was Max's dog.
And anyone who wants to see what Tom Hardy brings to the table needs to watch this movie:

Bronson rules and Hardy owned it. I wasn't a fan of his, but Zeb swayed me.

I know it's not a popcorn, summer blockbuster so its hard for you to relate. Isn't there a thread about the new Total Recall or something you can post in? I still dont know HOW you can be a Colin Farrell fan and have never seen In Bruges.
