I can't find anything on whether or not this is within the rules. I can't imagine it is.

Ok so the first tweet, from a legal perspective, says nothing about SPORTS betting, let alone the nfl. He could be on slots. So, no problem there. Yeah he talks about the ravens player but doesn't explicitly connect them.

Second tweet the guy says what do you "put on" the ravens. Sherm says "a lot". The word money or bet is not used.

Second tweet the guy says what do you "have on" the ravens. Sherm says "a lot". The word money or bet is not used. Could be in the context of what info sherm has on the ravens receivers having watched them player. The "what" in that sentence is never established fully.
Talk about a reach.

Regardless, they'll have his name on the sportsbook if the NFL investigates.

Misread one word so I edited before you replied. Anyway, of course it's a reach but when legal things are involved it has to be 100% clear cut. Did you already forget his PED appeal?

I agree on his name being in the book. The question is do they need a courts permission to request that info...

Ok, after some searching I'm going to retract my previous statements. Evidently the page that I had found probably was false regarding the betting. Here is something from March of last year:

http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/spo ... ct-243305/

Nowhere is betting stated in it.
Could it be this:

Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL players.

Possibly, but that is pretty vague and encompassing. I could see that getting tossed in a real court if used for something like this. If it were a Pete Rose type of deal then yea, or if it was a gambling addiction possibly. Who knows though with their horrible wording.

If there's a rule can someone link to it, otherwise we're just yelling at each other for no reason.

Dude, you guys don't seriously think Sherman is this dumb do you?

I would put money on it that his "a lot" of money on the ravens was laundered through one of his buddies that is with him with the bookie.

C'mon guys.

If this is a no no rules wise sure Sherman may not know so may not know not to say it. But don't forget Zach tweeted him back asking how much he put on em, there are two players in this, what are the odds on both players not being aware, esp a veteran like Zach? Not too high I'd say.

Hahahaha. Are you talking about Zach House? That kid doesn't look like an NFL player to me.

The 5-0
Stanford coach Bill Walsh once lobbied for an investigation into the U-Dub football program. Whether he knows it or not, Sherm is now lobbying for an investigation into Stanford's football program.

If there is a rule on this why are we bringing attention to it on our forum? Never know who reads this

He was probably playing my favorite slot machine in Vegas, Wicked Winnings 2 which has "Ravens" in it.

I've made a lot of money off the Ravens too. :th2thumbs:
