played both in high school, i can tell you defense is so much more tiring. Chasing running backs vs jogging to the huddle/new line of scrimmage.

No Doubt! Former O-Line myself. Love the camaraderie of the position group.

Played both. O-line > D-line. Snap count and per-determined assignment made it so much easier to dominate. Kicking some ass to set up a long TD run was way more gratifying than a sack or TFL on defense was for me.

The other thing is, when you are on the D-line and you are giving up a drive it just feels demoralizing. By contrast, when you are on O-line and your team is moving the ball (which it usually was), it feels like you have the momentum of the entire game in your hands. When they say "everything starts up front," they aren't kidding.

I played both in peewee football, and while I'm sure it's different at a peewee level, I enjoyed the D-line more. Nothing more satisfying than a sack fumble followed by a TD.

I loved playing defense way more. I couldn't understand why anybody would want to play offense but the QB, RB, and #1 WR after my very first football practice. Everybody on D was having fun. I played NT, DE, MLB, and OLB (moved to LBer as I got older, taller, leaner, and stronger rather than a squat little strong guy). I was also a long snapper and played center, guard, and tackle on offense. I had the most fun at LBer and on special teams. I loved being a long snapper and making the tackle almost every time, and being the only big guy on the hands team. I recovered a few onside kicks which was a blast. Long snapping was something I could have done in college, but never pursued it. I was really good at it, and it's a hard job to get down, but I never had a bad snap. So I guess my one really strong football skill was snapping. Why couldn't it have been something that would get me to the NFL like punting?!

From the tender age of eight (grid kids here) I was an armchair quarterback. Sure, the coaches never spoke to me, but if they had, boy was i prepared. This potential grew right through my high school years, where i was voted "Best Armchair QB" in a tri-county area and life was good. The chicks were there and i never had to pay for a drink.
But then college came along. How was i going to compete with these Armchair QB's from the big city? They were more sophisticated and had nicer Lazy-boys. I knew i couldn't, so I dropped out and joined a semi-pro league of ACQB's. I won't name the village i didn't play for but, I'm ever so grateful they ended up trading me to Seahawks.Net

IF only you were 2 or 3 inches shorter, maybe you could have realized your full potential and made all your dreams come true.
