didnt Pete say the same thing last offseason too?

Looks like we failed to fix it last year so I guess we will try again this year. I hope we are more successful this time.

Hmm. I would have thought spending a first round pick on a "pass rushing specialist" would have solved the pass rush issue. Guess not.

Is Hunt that talented, or Fresno State's OL that bad? I know he was initially beating a freshman on the right side, but by the second half they were triple teaming him.

I honestly want a DT with our number 1 pick.

and...

I know our corners are good. But I want another big physical corner. We were injury bug free this year.

Great to hear. Even more important than a #1 WR, in my opinion. We HAVE to be able to pressure opposing QBs next season.
I totally agree. I'm fine with Rice/Tate/Baldwin. Of course I'll be glad if we take a shot at Bowe and i'm sure a WR or two will be drafted but do not use our 1st round on a WR. No WRs deserve it this year it's not like we have an AJ Green or Julio Jones.

I could go either way depending on the situation. I have no doubt that PC/JS can find productive DL after round 1, and your pick in round 1 should never be hamstrung so much by a need that you overlook a superior player elsewhere. There's no AJ Green or Julio Jones, fine, but those players are top-10 caliber players. We're picking at 25, just barely above the start of round 2. Plenty of wideouts worthy of a pick there, with the potential to become special.
I agree. Too, has Pete started sending out smoke screens already? Hope so. I have thought we've reached a bit the last 2 years in the first round. So, I could see a John Jenkins and this Margus Hunt dude both sitting there at 25 and the Seahawks take DT Brandon Williams from some small college in Missouri. This board would explode with howls. For me... there is ONE player (at least at this point) that I would like to see the Seahawks NOT PASS UP if he is there at 25. That player is Tavon Austin. That kid is special. I think there are other WR's that could be consolation prizes in the draft: Ryan Swope, Markus Keaton. But, I wouldn't take them in the 1st round. I would take Tavon Austin and not look back. I would rather see the Hawks address the pass rush in Free Agency. Michael Johnson, Randy Starks, Desmond Bryant, ??? Not sure we find an elite pass rusher at 25. I don't know how they're going to do it... but, I am exited to see what JS/PC are going to come up with this offseason. (BTW... I don't really think PC is being disingenuous about the need for doubling up on the Pass Rush. That would be good.)

Re-sign Jason Jones, like now. He's proved to be a valuable piece as a pass rushing DT. At least, his impact is felt when he's not there. They have a lack of interior pass rush and this guy is right here already. Lock him up for 2-3 years at the minimum. The next move is to consider Randy Starks, DT as an FA. This guy is huge and will take 2 guys to block him. He was a terror when the Seahawks played Miami. Here's a link to his profile on NFL.com - http://www.nfl.com/player/randystarks/2505998/profile. He and Jones can spell each other as pass rushing DT. Which may help Jones stay healthy by limiting his reps, etc.

I like your enthusiasm, but I'm curious why you'd give Jason Jones a 2-3+ year contract when he hasn't even lasted the last two full seasons?

I'd love to see them bring back Jones, sign someone like Starks or Melton, and draft a young DT. That may be ambitious.

Don't see what all are seeing in Jones. Aside from injury he had 10 total tackles in 12 games. Barely saw him make an impact. Thanks but no thanks.

I liked the Jason Jones pick when it happened but not so much now. We need healthy players that can hang not old foogies that burn out and break. Hill, Tru, Jones.

Pressure doesn't always have come in the form of a DL. A LBer that can push home the attack could be in the works. Think a Chad Brown type of player. hmmm... maybe.
