and one of my co-workers starts bitching about how his paycheck is 2% less because the gubbment and Obama wants to tax everyone and how he wants smaller gubbment as well as other conservative radio talking points. Keep in mind that we work for the government.

Anyway, I, in my very own special flavor of sarcasm remind him that just two years ago he was bitching that Obama giving a 2% tax break "wouldn't do enough to stimulate the economy" and that it was a "token gesture" and that now as the 2% break is ending on schedule, as promised, he's bitching that he's no longer getting his "government handout". He was unhappy. I told him that he was full of shit.

I got in trouble. Not much though, the person wagging her finger at me was smiling while she did it.

But really though, what a fucking hypocrite.

The problem I have with bumping the social security tax back up to 6% (from the temporary 4%) is that there's a lot of skepticism that people my age (30) will even be able to collect SS, or all that we've put into it, at a minimum. I'd much rather have a mandated minimum amount I'm forced to put into my 401k that can't be touched until age 63, or whatever...

Why is wanting to keep the money you earned receiving a government handout??? That's just stupid brainwashing. Sorry my fellow Sacramentan, but it's true.

Naw Jazz, I just called it a government handout because my coworker criticized the 2% break when it initially happened because it wasn't enough to matter (according to him) and then he cried about it being taken away when the break expired.

So I called him on his bull shit.

Its the shack though... This would be totally shack worthy if you T-bagged his keyboard, or punched him in the throat.

Probably. But I really didn't have the time to compose something more eloquent.

And yes Peaches, people laughed.

Not really. He and I go back and forth all the time. I keep threatening to marry his daughter.

The point was that he complained when it started and then he complained when it ended. That does make him a hypocrite.

Now that's funny! He believed me when it happened to me, but then it actually did really happen that way, I am notorious for having too many tabs open. One of the features I dislike about this site, albeit no real big deal, is how, when you click a link, it takes you away from .Net instead of launching a new tab. Minor really, but that's why sometimes can be easy to get the tabs confused, if the link provided happens to be to a post in another forum on this site.
