I get the impression from what is said around her, that you are seen as something of a nutter. Maybe it's some other area, but I find most of what you post here insightful and I often agree. I too wish the "real" Republican party, the one that gave us guys like Eisenhower, Dan Evans (of this state), would make a re-appearance. The nutjobs today want to kill us economically over a debt ceiling that means nothing (it has nothing to do with new spending, just spending that is already sanctioned by congress). All these guys want is to force government to fail so they can say "See we told ya!" and then put even more wealth and power in the hands of corporations and the power elite.
Stewart is incredibly insightful. Hell these days, what would have been a conservative in the 70s is now a "liberal". It's a lot like when people call Jello Biafra a "liberal". They can't be bothered to even investigate. The guy makes a lot of sense and isn't afraid to say so. Just because they were popular during the Reagan years, people act like they were radical leftists, Jello isn't though, he will speak out against whatever he feels doesn't t make sense, if he was such a liberal, then what of this?
Hell Reagan himself was liberal compared to some of the ass clowns around today. At least he could work with the opposition.

Nixon was a communist. Welfare, minimum wage, the Dems killed his employee-mandated healthcare bill.
Oh, and who says that nuts and insight must be on opposite ends of the spectrum? I'm an ex-junkie who gets along the best with the Riley12 and Hawstorians of the world.

Oh, if they only knew. Ex tweaker, very similar, of course.
You've heard this one I'm sure but...
Q: What's the difference between a junkie and a tweaker?
A: A junkie will steal your wallet, but a tweaker will steal your wallet and then help you look for it.
While I'm at it...
Q: Why do tweakers do it doggy style?
A: So they can both peek out of the curtains while they fuck.
Q: How many tweakers to change a light bulb?
A: they don't need to; they all have flashlights!
This one is a local thing, and it's not as bad now as it once was....
Q: What has 10 teeth collectively and all shares the same DNA?
A: The population of Quilcene WA.

My only use for tweak was turning a girl out of my league. I'm a short, balding, Irish douchebag...NO WAY I could pull 18-25 yo chicks without it. Dope man and serving...different story.

Yeah my only use for opiates recreationally was as a comedown. I know a bit of what it's like to kick though. Just a medically scheduled kick and that was hell. So I guess I don't know what it's like fully, but I had a tiny taste of it and it was horrific. I never enjoyed being "down"; for me, I want to be awake and "in the zone". What I mean was that addiction, is all very similar, regardless of the substance or activity.
