Consider me quite jaded, as any time I know anything at all about the subject matter, it tends to disappoint wholly. I'll withhold judgment until I see it, but skepticism is my first reaction.

I don't think I can watch a film about Navy SEALS that has Andy Dwyer in it. Too many moments of potential, unintended hilarity with Bert Maclin.

JSeahawks is also pumped for Parental Guidance - big Billy Crystal fan. Who knew?
This is by Cameron's ex, the broad that made Hurt Locker, no? LOVED Hurt Locker.
I'm sorry that the government administration chose to shine the light of informaton on Seal Team Six and all other Seal operations.
Do people not understand their effectiveness is not being known?

I don't think the government wanted this movie released. I understand what you are saying though.... I don't think the government (reguardless of who is running it) likes stuff like this released unless its exactly as their "official story" is/was.

When talking about your home security, you advertise you have a security system in place - that's what the signs are for. Same with the 'Beware of Dog' signs. But do you tell them all the measures? The hidden cameras, the location of your gun(s) or other deterrents, what your strategy is when dealing with an intruder, how long it takes for the police to respond to your house?
When the Seahawks have a press conference, you advertise certain things. You want folks to know about some of what you're doing. But do you announce the trick plays, the secret plays you have designed for certain key circumstances? Do you tell your fans what your audibles mean?
You better believe they don't want a lot of this sort of thing released, but it's not because it doesn't line up with the "official story", no matter the administration in charge. It's that certain things tend to lose effectiveness when your opponent knows about them.

I thought this movie was fantastic.
My scout team and I did a lot of the same cell phone tracking tatics in Iraq (08-09) that they showed in this movie, so I really enjoyed that aspect of it. The raid scene of the compound was also amazing to watch. My platoon and I raided probably over 500 houses in my deployments, so most movies get that part wrong, but this movie not only captured much of the same methods we used accurately, they showed tatics that were really eye opening and educational.
For those worrying about giving up too much information and tatics to the enemy because of this movie, don't be. Cell phone tracking has been around for years (hell, Pablo Escabar was found using similar methods inthe early 90s). Our team was extremely successful at doing this, but after 10 months of exposure to what we were doing, even low-level targets knew the preventative measure to avoid being found. After an article was posted in the Army Times newspaper on these tatics, it all but confirmed our secret was no longer a secret to anyone, locally or internationaly.
