I'm applying for positions at McMurdo station in Antarctica. I'm not a scientist but there are plenty of positions to be had. I was wondering if anyone on .NET has ever worked at McMurdo and if they could share some experiences with me.

I thought that station burnt down after a last stand against a shape-shifting extraterrestrial.

I have a friend whom I play EvE Online with, and he is presently a volunteer firefighter at McMurdo. He loves it down there. So much so, in fact, that after his first tour of duty, he came back to the USA, got bored, and opted to go back. He's a weird one, that guy.

I suggest bringing a coat. I hear Antarctica can get kind of nippy.
Also Slick just won the thread.

My Mother went down there - probably 15 years ago, now she's 63, but it was as one of the Cooks's/ Bakers, It was one of her favorite life moments.
The pictures she brought back were incredible. She got to go with a group that traveled to within a few miles of the South Pole.
I'd do it!

If they need graphic designers I'm gone. Tired of being perpetually unemployed here in the States.
