Will you be rooting for Minnesota?

  • The obvious answer seems like Yes, since it will increase the chances of a home game and knock off the Packers. However, it would also mean playing at SF instead of at Atlanta for our second game if we knock of the Redskins. Since it is kind of a long-shot that Minnesota and the Hawks win out and face each other in the NFC Championship, would you prefer instead to cheer for a potentially better second round match-up, or do you feel sufficiently better about a road game in SF after the home dismantling that you are cheering for the long-shot home game?

  • I moved this to the NFL Forum cause there is so much going on about the upcoming game of our own.

I left a shadow so it can be accessed at both places.

  • We have SF figured out. I'm sure they will throw some new things at us, but the speed of our defense will make up for that. I don't think they have much of a homefield advantage, and we barely lost last time 12 weeks ago. It will be close but we will take that game

  • @ SF or ATL, no matter.

I personally think that after the thrashing we gave SF, they wouldn't want to see us. Given the way we dominated, I think we are in their heads a little.

Going to ATL would be tough, but not entirely. Traveling to WSH, then ATL would be tiresome vice going down to SF. Would we travel back home after WSH or just say in WSH or ATL area for that week?

Also adding that their offense is a bit depleted with Manningham out, plus Vernon Davis would probably drop a few balls with Kam Chancellor's big time hit on him still in memory. Haha. I feel confident going against any team in the NFC though, honestly. If we can avoid the Packers though, due to weather conditions, I wouldn't mind that one bit. The league is very fortunate that we didn't have home field advantage this year! Next year is a different story though. :th2thumbs:

  • Obviously. Not only does Minnesota offer Seattle's only hope of hosting a playoff game, but if they win it means Green Bay is eliminated. Green Bay being eliminated = very good odds of Seattle making the Superbowl.

Yep. Not that I think we'd be guaranteed to lose to GB at Lambeau or anything, but i'd just feel a bit more comfortable knowing we don't have to go up there to get to the SB. You KNOW the refs would be itching to right the perceived wrong done by the replacements, and you KNOW that Goodell has his little favorite franchises who always seem to have the favorable calls go their way. Again, not guaranteeing we'd lose, but it's tougher to go to Lambeau and win in the cold weather than to go to say San Fransisco or Atlanta.

  • I'd take SF. Atlanta has a pretty loud dome and it would be another cross country trip.

Both would be tough games though.

  • Absolutely. Firstly, the road through Lambeau is daunting. Secondly, i don't want to see the fail Mary redux media shitstorm. If the hawks lost in GB, i couldnt deal with the comeuppance storyline.

  • I can't decide. Minnesota going on a tear potentially sets us up to host the NFCCG @ our house, but I want to pimp-slap the Packers at Lambeau, too. Hrm...Decisions, decisions.

I was getting server error messages, it was really strange. It was telling me my post couldn't be made. Come to find out, it made it each time I tried and it gave me an error. Once I realized this, I didn't try again with the apology post.

  • i have wanted green bay to lose every game since week 4 this season
no question who I want to win
and at least the Vikings have one player in AP who I actually like as a person (and as a player, of course)

I wouldn't mind knocking GB off, of course, in the NFC Championship game. However, I don't see GB travelling to SF and actually winning there either, so I might as well hope they lose this game too, as I don't think it's possible for us to avoid travelling to SF in the playoffs (working on the assumption that we win tomorrow, we'd either play SF next week or the week after if they beat Green Bay, which I think they will. Might as well beat them next week as then there's a 50/50 chance we get the NFC Championship at home).

Yeah, Ponder's 40 yards per game are irreplaceable.

Webb is better. I'm happy about this.

  • Rooting for Minny for sure after all the public outcry over Tate's TD. No amount of favorable regular season calls makes up for getting reffed out of a Superbowl. I want Green Bay fans crying in their beers.

But I don't think it'll happen. Rodgers is one guy I'll go out of my way to watch, he's so damned good.

  • Hard to say, I want Seattle to have a chance for a home game but now that Ryan Grant is back with Green Bay I would like a chance to whoop that ass. Plus, the look on Rodgers face makes me angry every time I see it now.

I guess a home game is always better than no home game though.
