Can't wait for this. I used to be in the "No Mel, No Max" camp but Hardy is a great actor.

Funny I wasn't all that impressed those movies anyway and damned sure not interested in redos.

Besides Tina Turner's breasts are finally to old.

Can't anyone in hollywood write new scripts?

Tina Turner was in Thunderdome. I believe this is the remake of the original, "The Road Warrior".

Thanks Taz I understood. But you know if 10 people go to see this they will remake all of them.

As I recall The Road Warrior was the second wasn't it? Forgive me I was underwhelmed with most of them. Didn't get interested in Mel Gibson until the Danny Glover days.

Road Warrior was the first film, the Mad Max films came after.

Though, I agree that some films shouldn't be remade. But, if you didn't care for it the first time, what's not to say you wouldn't like the remake? Take Judge Dredd for instance. The remake (or addition?) was much better.

EDIT:
I stand corrected. After checking IMDB, Mad Max was the original. I'm getting old.

Hmmm looks interesting. I will definitely check it out. I am a big fan of the series. Mad Max, Road Warrior, and Beyond Thunderdome. The Max character is pretty bad ass. The Humungus is one of my fav bad guys of all time.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Stop remaking movies and come up with something new. What's going to be remade next? Planet of the Apes?

FYI, this is not a remake or a reboot, it's being treated as a sequel.

I was thinking the Road Warrior one ended with him walking away from the decoy tanker filled with sand while the real fuel tanker got away.

Quit whining Dom, or change your name to Radish.

This isn't a remake, its a sequel. Original director, who has taken 2 years just to make the cars for this film. No pussy CGI.

I once broke up with a girl because she had never seen or heard of the Road Warrior series. I asked "so, you just think Mel is from Bird on a Wire, bitch?".

I CAN'T WAIT.

Thank you. Yeah, it's not a remake. I should have said that in the initial post for all the assuming numbskulls.

Mel was offered the role FWIW but said a younger guy should take over. He said it would have been "Fat Max" had he stayed attached.

That's a awesome about the girlfriend prerequisite.

Don't like Tom Hardy, don't like Mad Max. Hopefully this will be good.

Sorry to say that ends our relationship, Zeb. It's been fun, I really appreciated your commitment to our relationship (kegels), but I just cant. We all have to have parameters in our life.

It's not me, its you.

The first popular one in the states was the second one - The Road Warrior. So people always get them mixed up. I know I did. I saw Mad Max 2 aka The Road Warrior first and then saw Mad Max second. It made so much more sense when I saw the first one and finally figured out what he was so pissed about. But this was when I was like 12 or 13 years old, so I may be a bit mixed up.

The Road Warrior is where he is out in the desert and they are fighting over gasoline. I think in the first one he was a cop and you see why he gets into the situation he is in out in the Outback in the second film. To many non-junkies of the series, they didn't know there was one made before the Road Warrior, because I believe it was the only one to get wide theatrical release here and was an early hit on video once tapes started becoming all the rage. Then of course everybody saw Thunderdome, because it actually had a budget.

I for one loved the Road Warrior. It seems like Tom Hardy is the "it" guy right now and they are squeezing him in a lot of movies. At least he's not Dane Cook though, and actually has some talent. For those of you who chuckled at that, then I assume you understand the way hollywood works and how they start attaching a guy's name to every project. Sort of like Seth Rogen about 2 years ago. It became nauseating. Same with Ben Stiller for a streak of about 5 years there. I love Ben Stiller. Was a big fan of his since he was a teenager doing standup, but it was like they were throwing every script at him and he was saying, "Why not?"

I wouldn't be sad, Zeb. PE also thinks James Franco is a great talent. He has a type.

From the picture in the OP, I'm guessing the plot revolves around Mad Max finding the missing sleeve to his jacket.
