Real Christians struggle all the time with surrendering their lives to God, and we honestly don't even give a thought to eternity most days (though we probably should). It's much more about the present. So kindly spare me the "inside scoop" on why people choose faith and how they maintain it. Why would an obviously intelligent person like yourself do that? God and his rules are what seems to an outsider simply man made.
If there was a God and he wanted for you to praise him and even more importantly know he exists, don't you think we would be born with this understanding?

Well, unfortunately, we're also born with sin. But it is taught that God is evident from creation itself. Romans 2&3 indicates certain things about God may be learned by people observing the world around them.
