Why was he drafted so low? Look at his measurables... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3CbjOyXrRsWas it really just size? Didn't know his brother is Steve Smith (former NYG, Ram).

Found this too... He also has a rare disease that puts severe limitations on his diet, as detailed in this Orange County Register story. http://www.ocregister.com/sports/smith- ... ounds.html

He was overshadowed by other great Lbers, and had to wait his turn. The disease I think really hurt him, he had trouble maintaining weight let alone adding weight. He's undersized by NFL standards 6-0, 226 pounds is really light for an NFL LBer. So I could see why he wasn't taken high. There are alot of great raw athletes that never develop into great NFL players. As PC said in his presser on WED this is the BEST he's played in the entire time that PC has known him.

Yea, he is very small for an NFL LB. For example, Kam Chancellor is huge compared to Smith. But Smith has rare athleticism, and if he can stay healthy, his size will not prevent him from making plays

He is small but he is cornerback fast @4.45 40 and strong at 225 x 28. He will give up a bit on runs but looks excellent on pass coverage, and the runs he has targeted at him he does pretty good.
