http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/84008/49ers-seahawks-could-have-flex-appealQuote: The Week 16 game between San Francisco and Seattle looks like a good candidate for flexing into prime time on NBC.
The league and networks haven't made an announcement yet, but the currently scheduled Sunday nighter between the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets is looking like a tough sell. Both teams are struggling.
Fox has protected the New York Giants' game at Baltimore. CBS has protected the Cincinnati-Pittsburgh game. That means neither game will be heading for NBC in prime time.
That leaves the 49ers-Seahawks game as the most appealing game to get flexed, in my view. Make it so NFL.

WHY!!!
nevermind the attention, schedules are prepared for, nothing needs to change, low key is just fine, its already in the niners favor when it comes to the league and officiating
nothing both the league and the officials would like to do more is get back at Seattle for that seahawk call everyone is still whimpering about..
you know what they say, the squeeky wheel gets the grease, apparently all this whining s an effort to get some help for GB and screw Seattle, especially if they play one another and especially if Seattle gets home fiedl over GB which is still possible on both accounts..
green bay has a VERY hefty schedule coming up with the lions, da bears, titans, and vikes, they could easily lose 2 and possibly every game, oddly enough even the lions are still in the wild card hunt a lot would have to happen but its possible, obviously the vikes and da bears are in for a division title so they should be playing lights out leaving everything on the field, do or die, just as it is for the hawks so those tow ending up with identical records is VERY possible and you know the whiners will be coming out of the word work claiming a catch isn't a catch cuz a couple worn out idgets that try to call games for ESPN say they it wasn't, deosnt matter the official that made the call said he called it right, deosnt matter the league said it was a good call,
all that matters are the cry babies, between all the whiners and the league prez its going to be embarrassing to even watch a game, if they all get their way they'll stroll the QBs out in a baby carriage while he throws a nerf football at receivers who are wearing maids outfits and schoolgirl uniforms..
its getting real bad, every player need to sign a disclaimer that dissolves any and all responsibility of injuries to every except his self, then they need to lose the rules regarding illegal enhancers and blow the game wide open, just develop high tech composite shielding and bracing along with high tech padding, so what it slows em down a bit, isn't that what they want anyways?
fans still want to see hard hitting, they never want to see anyone get hurt, pad em up and let em play!!!

I wouldn't mind more national games. That would allow The Wilson to win the hearts and minds of a national audience.

But won't this be the first Hawks game on Sunday night?? This year. A quick Google Search shows we've played on Sunday night at least 3 other times since 2000, all when ESPN had the coverage: Nov 11, 2001, Oakland Raiders at Seattle Seahawks - 34-27 win Oct 12, 2003, SF 49ers at Seattle Seahawks - 20-19 win Oct 16, 2005, Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks - 42-10 win So, it looks like we have pretty good history going for us on PrimeTime Sunday night games here in Seattle.

Rams game before beast quake was moved to Sunday night. That was the game where Chuck Whitehurst started, and we clinched the division at 7-9.

fans still want to see hard hitting, they never want to see anyone get hurt, pad em up and let em play!!! Dude, not everyone is out to get us. The officials are just out there doing the best they can. They aren't trying to screw over the Seahawks, and if they were we would not have won the week 3 game. Fact. Do you think they've given the Packers extra wins because of that game? No? Well then they aren't looking to deal the Hawks an extra loss.

Watch it not happen. The entire nation views Pete Carroll as a cheater, especially after Adderallgate, and they'll do whatever it takes to keep him out of the limelight. We'll just have to win the division on the down-low.

I think we play better on national televised games. We still have the best MNF record to date 18-8!

Has any team every played back to back Sunday Night games? SF would do so if it is flexed...not sure why this keeps getting overlooked...

We played on a Sunday Night in Chicago the year after the Super Bowl year and had a miserable night. I think that was the first game with Alexander injured that year

We also played N.O. that same season on Sunday Night. Hass almost got leveled by NBC's camera that was above the players.
