Aros' Fearless Prediction Thread (Cardinals @ Seahawks)

The Essential Online Seattle Football Fan Forum Community. There simply is NO substitute. LANGUAGE RATING: PG-13
  • There's been talk this week from some of us who are afraid of the Cardinals this Sunday. As if the Ghost of Miami will rise inside of Century Link and burst the bubble of Russellmania. No question, the Arizona Cardinals have a fiesty defense who play tough. They've already beaten us once this year. Well, I'm not hearing one lick of it. The Cardinals are on an 8 game losing streak, their coach is about to be fired and players are spitting on one another.

    They are imploding.

So if you really think that THAT Arizona team is going to magically waltz into the toughest stadium to play in the NFL and beat one of the hottest quarterbacks in the league and a team that now has tremendous confidence after a thrilling and decisive road victory against the Bears with TANZANIA at our backs...

    I want what you're smokin'.

  • If Kolb plays:
    Hawks 20
    Cards 16

    If it's Lindley:
    Hawks 27
    Cards 6

    To date: 3-9

EDIT: Well now, I see it's Skelton getting the start and I think he's near a wash with Kolb so I'll go with....

    Hawks 20
    Cards 13

Well, it's not just Miami. It's also St. Louis, Detroit, and Arizona (the first time). For whatever reason (being on the road, defense choking, etc.), we just seem to lose to crappy teams, and Arizona is a god awful team, so our fears aren't completely baseless. THAT BEING SAID:

    Seahawks - 21

    Cardinals - 0

First true shutout of the year.

They are when you consider those were all on the road. NOT at home. We play like a Championship-caliber team at home.

  • For the record, I heard on Northwest Sports Tonight last night that Kolb is not going to play and since Skelton is in Wisehunt's doghouse for whatever reason, it's almost a lock that the awful 3rd stringer will play again.

  • If this team wants to be seen as any form of legit, this can't be close. I know its the NFL and a win is a win, but being realistic the Hawks need to crush the Cardinals in Seattle.

My pessimistic self is thoroughly on board with the expectation of an ass kicking. But I will qualify it and say that I am a hawks fan so nothing would surprise me...

  • The thing that worries me is that this team seems to have the nasty habit of playing down to the competition. I thought we would annihilate the Cards in week 1, and that didn't go so well. But that was a long time ago, and RW3 has improved a ton and we are at home. Still, I don't think it will be a blowout. The Cards will play with heart

  • I think we may set the Hawks record for sacks in this game with 10 (I think). What really worries me is that after we spank the Cards we might get too overconfident and lay an egg against the Bills in Toronto. We can't afford to lose another game!

The Cardinals have scored 24 or more points twice this season, both at home. One against a terrible Philly team and the other against Miami and it took them OT to get there. You really see the Cardinals scoring 24 points on the road in Seattle?

I understand doubting this team on the road, but the Cards scoring 24 on the Hawks in Seattle? That's extreme pessimism.

  • I am a little scared of the Cards, but I'm mainly taking one for the team here, as the only games I have predicted are the Lions and Dolphins games, which I predicted as wins, so I am 0-2......

    Cards - 16

    Seahawks - 10

  • 3 games in a row have been decided by 3,3, and 4.
That D of theirs is nasty.
Skelton is playing, and he isn't afraid to put it up to Fitz.

  • As has been stated, their D is for real (way better than the Bears in my opinion). Docket and Campbell always eat us alive. But that my friends, is not enough for the Russel Wilson show.

Our win will be decisive, but not a blowout.

  • Cards d is good but they are a pretty mixed up team now. The way RW is playing, I'm going with a good old fashioned butt-whooping. When all the bounces go our way at home (unlike soldier field) with the most dangerous team headed for the playoffs, it's on like donkey kong.

27-6 Hawks - but the buuuttttt whooping is much worse than the score!

You guys are awfully optimistic after watching our much vaunted D let a bunch of games go in the closing seconds. I think this will be wayyy closer than we think.

Very concerned about the new guys dealing with Fitz - Skelton will look to get him the ball. Beanie is back, their D is back to almost full strength and they have a chip on their shoulder. And they beat the hell out of us on the first go around.

  • I don't have a good feeling about this game. Seattle is 0-2 in games where they can go 3 games over .500. They need to prove to me that they can play good football CONSISTENTLY. Let's face it, we lose to inferior teams often. This Arizona team has a lot of talent, and a dangerous defense that can beat you alone unless you scheme just right.

13-10 Arizona, hawks miss a last second FG.
