Always liked Yo Gotti, especially his songs with Daz. BTW, anyone check out the cyphers on the BET awards? They were all very good and refreshing to hear. I especially loved the west coast one.
Also, I just heard Vinnie Paz's new album from Jedi Mind Tricks. Very good and hard as they come.

Lmao YO GOTTIIIIIII
I'll be honest the only song I like by him is Women Lie, Men Lie but that is mostly due to Wayne's verse. I haven't listened to enough of his songs to be objective though.
This is one of my good friends Aziz who is starting to get big in the Boston/Philly area. He filmed one of his corniest songs videos at my house my senior year at UNH after having no where else to do it but was a fun night overall. Was cool to see an actual video crew setting up scenes and getting multiple takes. No idea how the cops didn't show up.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Kendrick album. From everybody. I'll have to check it out at some point.

Some more new songs I've been loving lately...
Then I just discovered this dude, songs a little over a year old

Serious question to the Hip Hop enthusiasts here...
Who in YOUR opinion is the best rapper out of the NW? Zeb go on ahead and throw your Rose City boys in the mix
I know Macklemore is becoming the household name, but for some reason I can't get into his music aside from the song called "The Town". For me it'd be J.Pinder, I know a lot of people are angry about him shooting videos in other locations other than Seattle but to me the dudes music is legit. Of all his projects I haven't had to skip a single song.
After him, though in ranking it's pretty much a tie between Luck One from Portland and Clemm Rishad from Tacoma.

Luck One is the best IMO. But also all 3 dudes from Th3rdz are up there for me. Onry Ozzborn(Grayskul/Dark Time Sunshine) has consistently made some of the best hip hop music over the last 15 years but he's not necessarily the best rapper. His catalog's hard to argue against though. Pinder's dope. Mack makes extra feelable music and he's really putting on for the city but I don't think anybody who knows anything would argue that he's the best rapper. There's also another guy down here named Jon Belz who has the potential to be up there if he can get some more material out.
I'm out of touch though these days, really. I almost only hear rappers that I work with because I just can't stomach it any more. I ruined it for myself inadvertently.

From my extra limited ass experience in the music scene around here I've noticed this as well, more specifically in the Tacoma area.

Blue Scholars are cool, Sabzi (the producer) is niiiiiiiiiice on the beats. Content wise it makes me only able to listen here and there and its not on the lyrics at all but I'm just not much for their style of political messaging in music.

I may be biased but XP or Xperience (also from TH3RDZ) is that dood! Fice from Tacoma is pretty dope too And Nacho Picasso has such an effortlessly effective tongue in cheek flow
