So yeah if Carroll and Bevell finally take the training wheels off Russell, maybe we can expose the Lions horrible DB's, but I don't see that. Carroll seems to be in love with playing ultra conservative on the road in hopes that we pull out a win the 4th quarter.
When given an opponent with a weak set of DB's, Wilson has been pretty accurate with the passing game....look at what he did to beat the Patriots. Also, our strength is the running game. We have one of the best in the game at yards after contact in Marshawn Lynch. He will get his yards as long as he gets his carries.
Defensively, we are strong in both the run and the passing game, but with their 2nd leading receiver hurt now, that will put even more of an onus on Johnson, and Browner/Sherman match up well against him....see the Bears game for an example of how a 6'2"+ guy can cover Johnson and keep him at bay. Their sub par run offense shouldn't really even be a match for our run defense. The biggest question we have this week is getting good pressure on the qb with Jones unlikely to play.
