These are the play calls on each of the Seahawks' sets of downs that began inside the Carolina 30:
From the opening drive, starting on the CAR 27: -1st and 10 at the 27, incomplete pass -2nd and 10 at the 27, Lynch 3 yard run -3rd and 7 at the 24, Wilson 13 yard pass to Baldwin Result: 1st down
From the opening drive, starting on the CAR 11: -1st and 10 at the 11, Lynch 1 yard run -2nd and 9 at the 10, Lynch 0 yard run -3rd and 9 at the 10, Wilson 6 yard pass to Miller Result: Field goal attempt
From the first drive of the 2nd quarter, starting on the CAR 25: -1st and 10 at the 25, Lynch 2 yard run -2nd and 8 at the 23, Lynch 2 yard run -3rd and 6 at the 21, Wilson 3 yard pass to Turbin Result: Field goal attempt
From the touchdown drive, starting on the CAR 27: -1st and 10 at the 27, Wilson 9 yard pass to Lynch -2nd and 1 at the 18, Lynch 3 yard run Result: 1st down
From the touchdown drive, starting on the CAR 15: -1st and 10 at the 15, Lynch 2 yard run -2nd and 8 at the 13, incomplete pass -3rd and 8 at the 13, Wilson 13 yard TD pass to Tate Result: Touchdown
From the first drive of the 4th quarter, starting on the CAR 23: -1st and 10 at the 23, Turbin 0 yard run -2nd and 10 at the 23, Turbin run for 3 yard loss -3rd and 13 at the 26, incomplete pass Result: Field goal attempt
Of the six sets of downs, we went run-run on 1st and 2nd down three times. Each of those three times resulted in the drives stalling and field goal attempts. Of the six sets of downs, we passed on either 1st or 2nd down three times. Each of those three times resulted in either a 1st down or a touchdown. We gained 10 yards on 9 rushing attempts on 1st and 2nd downs inside the Carolina 30. The first step to fixing the red zone offense is fixing the play calling. If defenses continue stacking the box to stop Lynch in the red zone, that is the time to open it up for the passing game.
