Unless I get REALLY ambitious, chat is going to be offline until we get this beast moved and settled in its new home. I would like this to not be the case, as it takes a lot of the stress off of the forums during gameday. But, there are only so many hours in a day.

Well in the meantime people can download and connect to one of the many IRC clients and still enter gameday chat, they just need the server info to connect with.
I'm assuming that just the .net web chat app will be offline, but you can still connect to a server and room with an irc client like mirc

The IRC server was hosted by us as well, so there is no irc.seahawks.net right now to connect to.

would it be cool if we just made the same #seahawk_chatters on Undernet, or Dalnet or somewhere else? Don't wanna go rogue here but alot of people are going to miss chat, and those are free options.

Free options that don't require anyone to host, for a temporary solution

It isn't, unless you like insanity.
We got along without chat for years so I imagine we can get along without it for a week or so.
Most of the chat people don't post to much anyway. At least many of the names are not familier to me.
