While I agree the smart thing to do is to wait for the police to show up - that isn't always the right thing to do. If there was a knife involoved then who knows maybe BFS saved some other guys life by getting involved. While it sucks for him to be where he is now, who can predict what could/would have happened had he not intervened.

Yeah, come on. In that situation your first instinct IS to step in and help, not call the police and wait 15 minutes for them to show up when some serious damage could have already been done. You did the right thing BFS, be proud of what you did! Get well soon man, I'll be prayin' for ya.

Got some more info.
He was stabbed in the abdomen with a buck knife. From what i have been told is they got the guy that did it and the guy fessed up to it.

I hate hearing stories like this. My prayers are with you BFS and I hope you have a speedy recovery. A few months ago I made a post about myself breaking up a fight and being assaulted because I intervened. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and BFS gave me some good advice on these boards about being proud that I stood up for the person that was being attacked. My heart goes out to you BFS, get well soon bro
