Oh I am sure it's legit, but where a lot of things can get up is when someone wants to add another I and or T at the last minute. It's not done till it's done, remember these are politicians were talking about. You can only trust them if they benefit from something.

Who at this point in time (since things are always changing) is the most likely candidate to move here and become the Sonics? Still the Kings? And when would that happen?

  • Congratulations!

its pretty sweet this thing actually passed and is going to happen. after all the delays and extra this and that, its nice to see a guy like chris hansen get to play out his vision and bring back a pro sports venue capable of hosting basketball and hockey. so now seattle is going to get all sorts of opportunities to showcase that new building. as soon as the sonics come back, we get the all star game. as soon as the hockey team relocates or is created for us, another all star game. the ncaa march madness tournament has regional tournament brackets to start it out, one of these years it can be up in seattle in a beautiful new building.

man im actually way happier now that im thinking about this. do it like the vmac for training facilities and all that so its top of the line for the nba with all the bells and whistles (hard to out class cuban in this regard but somewhere in the ball park would be excellent). great facilities help keep players and attract others (all other things considered being equal). to be able to create from blue print exactly what you want for sight lines, architecture, regional/cultural appeal.

  • So cool to see.Hansen for governor of Washington.I would say the Kings are the most likely to locate but we will see.Seems like more troubled franchises in the NHL but Coyotes,Islanders,Panthers and Bluejackets would be the leading contenders.

  • And the Mariners just continue to disappoint and piss people off:

    Aaron Levine‏@AaronQ13Fox

Letter from SODO maritime/business groups including #Mariners: "We believe the MOU’s pre-selection (of SODO arena site) will prejudice...

    Aaron Levine‏@AaronQ13Fox

...the thoroughness and credibility of the EIS’ alternative site location, will taint its adequacy... ...

    Aaron Levine‏@AaronQ13Fox

and constitutes an impermissible “action” taken without SEPA review."

    Aaron Levine‏@AaronQ13Fox

#Mariners say they signed on as members of the broader coalition, and that Dave Gering and Jordan Royer have taken lead on the issue.

I was all set to say whatever to these clowns and root for the players, but the front office just continues to make that impossible

  • That is the final straw for me. The mariners, I am thru with them.

They are typical Seattle. They epitimize all that is bad about this city. A typical can't do attitude that permeates government and a resistance to change that flows through its citizens. Satisfied with the status quo and fearful of an uncertain future.

Seattle Mariners... You are all that I hate about the city I love so much.

  • Well I'm glad Hansen is doing what he is doing, but the gloating the City is doing makes me sick, getting Hansen to fork over another 47 million and pay for partial renovation of the Key in addition to what he will do with it as a temperary home for the Sonics and the 40 million for traffic and to read an artical by the port saying we appreciate it but we can't see 40 million doing anything for improvements.

I don't see anyone else contributing anything, they SAY the port and others are suppose to put money into this fund, I guess we will see.

  • The Mariners backstabbing the hand that feeds them is gonna comeback and haunt them, not all Baseball fans are Basketball fans, nor are they all Hockey fans, but I would wager a larger percentage are fans of either sport or both. The Mariners will again at some point ask for money from all of us and the City for renovations :) How do you think they will respond to saying well Hansen ponied up 65 percent or more plus we want a fund set aside for area improvement.

#Mariners say they signed on as members of the broader coalition, and that Dave Gering and Jordan Royer have taken lead on the issue.

I was all set to say whatever to these clowns and root for the players, but the front office just continues to make that impossible

Can we please get a new local ownership for the Mariners too? I mean this is unreal for them to do this.

  • One more way the Mariners let people down.

They are really scared shitless that with more places to spend your sports entertainment dollar, that they will have to invest and become a winning organization or be the fourth most (oops, forgot the Soccer team) fifth most popular team in the City.

They have been doing the minimum to retain fans for a long time, competition worries them.
