There is so much waste, abuse, and fraud in those 2 areas alone! A lot of cuts wouldn't be bad. There should be a ton of cuts. Just not arbitrarily across the board, and especially not in a way specifically directing they aren't "contradicting what we said the impact would be." These cuts don't target fraud, waste, and abuse anywhere. They just plays politics with people's paychecks, which is a pretty fucked up thing to do. Agreed. The problem is neither side seems to be taking this seriously, as if playing with people's lively hood is some kind of game. The day of the Sequester Congress wasn't even in session, and it wasn't as if Obama was out there calling them to come back and get to work, because he wasn't. They met a little bit afterwards, and all there has been since is political posturing and blame games. That said we don't want a deal to just have a deal. It needs to be a deal that does right for the American people, not for a political parties national standings.

The TA cuts in the military are directly related to the sequester.

We can't constantly complain about the nation overspending then, following every spending cut, complain about the program being cut. Well, obviously, I suppose "can't" is the wrong word. If we make cuts it is going to be to a program that someone likes and we will continue spending money on a program someone sees as a waste.

Here's a list of stuff our wonderful politicians are refusing to cut out of the federal government
$140,000 to study pig feces in China. $100,000 for a videogame about aliens saving planets from climate change. $88,000 for a comedy tour in India called "Make Chai, Not War." $55,000 to study immaturity and drinking.
Granted those aren't large cuts, but if we can't cut those...there is literally nothing in the budget that anybody will be willing to cut and I would most certainly prepare for our country to go bankrupt above and beyond Greek levels.

We've started to see the effects now, with areas like the FAA's air traffic controllers seeing the more visible cuts. Of course, there are other ways to save money too. What? Boehner just saved over half the sequester money by cutting back operations spending in the House of Representatives? Nuts, I tell you! So why is this type of visible, painful cutting necessary, when we can cut more from areas of less impact?

It's pig odor, not pig feces. It's a legitimate agricultural concern because it could potentially put farmers out of work. Bush cut it, it got re-implemented, so now its "wasteful spending." I didn't look up the others because your copy and paste effort is obviously a major over-simplification, or rather, a lazy regurgitation.

So why is this type of visible, painful cutting necessary, when we can cut more from areas of less impact? The whole idea of the sequestration was to make the cuts painful - so then the idiots would pass a budget compromise. We made the choice by putting them in office - now we suffer. I do find it "funny" that we hear the complaints that we need to cut federal spending then the same people complain because they are effected by the cut. Any cut is going to effect someone. But, then again, I think that cutting spending right now is a stupid idea anyway. Spending cuts should take place during economically strong periods (ie 1984-1989: 1994-2000: 2003-2006). Cutting spending right now is only costing jobs and slowing the recovery. On a side note - only one of those eras I mentioned had even a fake reduction in spending. Damn tax and spend Democrats! (I know that Republicans in congress were a factor in the budget)

Not sure if someone already mentioned it but they put money back into airports. Apparently the cuts made the politicians about them having to wait longer in airportines. This money could gave gone to patienits who have cancer but ya i dont see how that has a effect in our polticians lifes.
