If economic stimulus is supposed to, yanno, actually stimulate the American economy, why not give the money to U.S. small businesses? That way we know 100% of the money will go exactly where they say they want it to go.

What the hell does that even mean? Give the money to small business?

Does that mean I get a big check?

It means exactly what it says. Instead of the government handing out stimulus checks to every American taxpayer to stimulate the economy, why wouldn't it be a good idea if they instead gave those checks out to every American-owned business? Wouldn't that be a better idea, seeing as they want the stimulus to go to American business? Wouldn't that go 100% to American business instead of mostly to Taiwan and Japan and China and India and such?

If one buys into the whole "stimulus helps the economy" argument, wouldn't this be the best of all worlds?

No matter how you distribute the money it ends up in the same place. I'm not one for handing out free checks.

I always thought vouchers for the specific types of business you're trying to stimulate would be most effective. But I'm pretty sure the plan was to get as much of this back into the banks as possible anyway so I can see why they opted for the checks.

I love how when you say some indisputable shit on this forum nobody responds. Let's just argue or have no conversation at all. Bravo, gentlemen. :salute:

I'm not either, which is why I've been opposed to all the stimulus passed over the past decade or so. I don't think it works as advertised, although the argument might be made it works exactly how they intend it to, which says volumes about them if so.

Yep. And that's exactly what I was talking about when I said it speaks volumes about them. They're not really working with the best interests of the American people in mind anymore.
