Actually, it should be "pro-birth" since most anti-abortion folks tend to not give a fuck what happens to a human once it's born.

I'm starting to wonder if anti-abortion social conservative types secretly want tons of unwanted children to be born just so they can look them in the face and say, "Quit stealing my tax dollars, you fucking socialist freeloader." :stirthepot:

Hey Vol, you'll probably want to change your site password. I think SonicHawk hacked your account. ;)

Man, I really expected more to come out of that little nugget. Not quite "Atlanta in flames as Sherman marches to the sea," but at least more than a little good-natured snark. :(

(Still, I do think at least a significant percentage of the "pro-life" people are really just "pro-birth.")

I support abortion because every baby you kill was likely going to grow up to be a liberal who supports abortion.

...Better?

Okay, so maybe that pass rush is still an issue. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Every time there's a war it seems a new racial epithet develops and we become more and more numb to violence.

That is a perceived thing on your part, and it's irrefutably wrong. This is probably the safest the world has ever been on a global scale going back 10,000 years. You clearly don't realize just how much random violence was part of everyday life for thousands of years for most of the whole world until the last few hundred years.

Every person is unique and can bring something completely unexpected into the world, especially in our capitalist society that promotes individualism and has many specific examples of rags to riches success.

The evil and stupid outnumber the good and brilliant by a significant margin. You're more likely to benefit the world by getting rid of a large number of random people than the other way around.

That is one reason to try and help others and save lives. Another easier to digest reason is simply to pay it forward, every bad thing that happens to others is foreign until it happens to you. Offering your help will create the want for others to help you in your time of need.

No, this just promotes the smart people to take advantage of the naive. "There's a sucker born every minute." -David Hannum

I agree its safer, that doesn't mean we should put it on cruise control and not strive for better. Sounds like you also agree that valuing human life is beneficial. I'm sure you prefer your relatively safe life in today's standards than the prehistoric chaos others have lived through. Civilized society ain't so bad.

You missed the point, and I disagree with your assessment. Out of a billion people, it only takes 1 Einstein to change the way we all think forever. Through all the wars and carnage a lot of potential information was lost. Not to mention real information (Alexandria).

There's more to being smart than knowing how to manipulate. In my view, you are a detriment to society if what you posted is a truthful sample of your intrinsic values.

How many Hitlers, Stalins, etc. are there to Einsteins, though?

Oh, I agree there's more to being smart than that; and it's not an example at all of my intrinsic values, but it's a piece of truth that is evident all over the world, that's for sure.
