Thought I'd post this here, rather than yet another thread showing how absolutely stupid California politics are. According to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California), pretty much any military veteran probably has PTSD and shouldn't be allowed to buy guns.

While I think her point is stupid it's dumb to have veterans exempt. If you're going to ban it, just ban it for everyone.

It would be a nice segue to more money put into the treatment of PSTD.

That only solves the problem of school shootings, think bigger. Every child that is born should be issued a glock from the Department of Social Security with a serial number matching your SSN. No Child Left Unarmed.

I don't have any data to back this up, but I think that if everybody had a gun then injuries & deaths by stabbing would probably go way down.

Are you suggesting everyone should get knives, too? Because that might start getting expensive.

Every parent should get a menu and assign their newborn child 1 weapon of choice.

Gun control is going to be a thing of the past pretty soon. Once these 3d printers start to take off and prices drop, people will be able to print their own guns from home. Technology is a little shaky now, but of course it will always get better.

LOL

I read an article about an elementary school student who was suspended for eating a pop tart into a shape of a gun and then pretending it was a gun. Our public schools have officially moved into the "beyond hope" realm.

I read about a church group that protests military funerals to point out that God hates America. Organized religion has now moved into the "beyond hope" realm.

Fender, the problem isn't really the schools, it's the idiotic parents complaining to schools and/or suing them over ridiculous incidents like this for the most part, in my opinion.

God forbid parents raise their kids in a reasonable way.

If somebody can sue the school over not punishing a little kid for eating a pop tart into a gun, then it sounds like it's our legal system that is in desperate need of re-working.

It IS in desperate need of an overhaul, fender; but I doubt it'll happen. People abusing it more with each passing year is the real issue.

Can I request a lightsaber? Please tell me there's a lightsaber.

Dammit, there's no lightsaber, is there?

One of the key proponents of banning guns had this to say about "assault weapons": "It’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines." Anyone want to step up to the plate and actually admit they would vote for her or have in the past?

Maybe that's part of the new Ryan health care system :240039:

As soon as someone comes up with a gun control plan that actually works, I am game. But the thing is, in all like 50 years of how many different countries trying to, and none of them have come up with anything that even close to remotely works? One country will ban guns and have a less violent country, but then you will have a country like brazil that bans guns yet has the highest murder rate involving firearms. There is no consistent proof that any plan works or has worked. It has to deal too much with the culture of the country and so many other limitless factors.
