Fellow .NET dog owners... Question...

  • Do your dogs eat weird stuff that doesn't seem like something they should like?

It seems like every dog I own loves fruit. I had a springer spaniel who would force me to share oranges with him, and my shih tzu now loves apples! My sister and parents dogs hate em, but my dog Wendel loves em. I know to keep the seeds away from him, but I think he could eat apple slices all day if I let him.

  • My last dog was an Australian Cattle dog( blue heeler) raised from a pup. Died of cancer at 14 yrs.
No lie he would eat ANYTHING I was eating.
Literally, he would eat a dill pickle if I was eating it.

  • Our Min-Pins all loved carrots. One older one with no teeth would eat them if we shredded them for her.

Dogs like goats will eat most anything, even shit that will make them sick as dogs.

  • My dog will eat most things that don't have a pungent odor.

Jesus, one time he ate a tampon out of my ex-girlfriends garbage. I didn't know until I saw a string hanging from his butt one day while he was trying to poop.

  • My springer spaniel, long gone but not forgotten, would eat our socks, once ate the cassette tape stuff, one time stole a bag of Hershey's nuggets off the table and ate all of em, aluminum wrapper and all, he ate frozen fish sticks that he knocked on the ground while we were waiting the oven to heat, and a whole stick of butter, and ate dead birds quite often.

Loved that dog though lol, he was one of the best parts of growing up.

  • If I let him, my dog would drink Monster energy all day.

I don't usually give him people food though (unless it's a big hunk of steak on special occasions).

My uncle's pit eats bowling balls.

  • We are careful what people food we give Bud. He would eat a lot of stuff on the things-dogs-shouldn't-eat list if we let him. There are a few things he won't touch that aren't on the list though which surprises me since I thought dogs eat just about anything. He is almost out of his chewing on things stage too but he is well supervised when we are home and kenneled if we can't take him with us. He is also trained not to eat tootsie rolls out of the cat box anymore. It is nice to have that one done.

  • We've started sprinkling cayenne pepper powder on the carpet to discourage the dog from munching it. (It hasen't worked).

  • Remember the one comedian Ron White. His dog eats its own cra.....doodoo. Said so on one of his comedy routines. One of the other comedians wanted his dog to visit....for some odd reason.

  • As I remember it the Ron White story was really started with Bill Engvall who told the story of his dog eating his own poop so the vet told him to get some stuff to sprinkle on the dog poop. Engvall asked why that worked and the vet said it makes it taste bad.

    here's your sign.

  • We had a german shepherd when I was a kid, he snuck a large bag of white sugar out of the kitchen one day, ate the entire bag before he got caught.

Poor dog wasn't right for a week.

(Same dog that lost his entire tail chasing a school bus, when it got caught in the wheel)

  • My Boston really likes tomatoes, peaches, and grapes. He's even been known to eat cilantro leaf, which shocked me a bit.

I also have a cat that loves flamin' hot cheetos.

Grapes and raisins should never be fed to a dog. They can cause renal failure.
