  • Am the only one who wouldn't mind an entire hour of 'The Adventures of Arya and The Hound'? I just dig how that story is playing out.

That being said, so looking forward to this fight between Oberyn and The Mountain. Dude has some wicked sick moves judging from the teasers.

    Nope.

I think Arya is my favorite character, so yea more scenes with those two would be great.

I was reading about the new guy playing The Mountain, they're on their 3rd actor for him. But this new guy is a Icelandic 6'9'' power lifter.

You're definitely not the only one... I've heard many say the same including myself. Arya is turning into a savage. I like it. Their dynamic is so fun to watch

  • That Vice mini-documentary "Nest of Giants" was pretty good on that link. I remember watching Strongman competitions all the time as a kid and of course Magnus Magnusson was my favorite. Always wondered how those Icelandic people are so strong

  • Seems most everyone would love to see more of Arya and the Hound. For those of you who missed it, here's a little clip of the two of them. I'm posting the link, rather than embedding it here because some of you might go all Joffrey on me for posting spoilers.

  • Arya + The Hound is awesome. Would love to see more of them.

Last night was probably my favorite episode of the season thus far. Dinklage's acting has just been superb.

    Also, Littlefinger last night...
I was hoping that was coming haha.

  • They did a great job making you think Oberyn was going to win and then completely destroying all your hopes in epic fashion.

The look on Tyrions face right before The Mountain swept the leg was a bit of a giveaway, he had a look of worry, even with a spear wound in the mountains chest. He knew what was coming.

  • Well done Viper vs Mountain sequence. I have concentrated valium for blood and I think I detected a bit of anxiety, there. (It was the all-out shrieking from a character portrayed so cool and collected, I think. No BS manly grunts of distress in that situation.)

  • A comic someone did from the book version (Show was -really- close).

Though the scale of the Mountain probably a little closer, here. The Mountain's like 8 feet tall in the books.

    THAT, is funny.

So with the season done and those of us non-book-readers (I swear I'm starting this summer), a couple of characters conspicuously absent this season, Gendry and the Blackfish. As far as I know Gendry is still out there rowing, and the Blackfish is still taking a piss.

I'm halfway through the last book, and the final two books are a pretty tough slog to get through. Too wordy, too long and too many dang characters with not enough action. There are "exciting" parts in the last two books but they are markedly fewer and far between.

And most of the first three books were tough to get through because I already new most of what was going to happen from the TV show (TV show differences aside of course).

Just saying that before you go and buy them all, just pick up a used paperback copy of the first one and give it a whirl.
